Transport and deliver products to customer by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area. The Driver will be responsible for driving to and from designated location, verifying load to shipping papers, maintaining record of duty status according to state and federal regulations and performing pre-trip and post trip inspections.\nKey Responsibilities\nInspect truck for defects and safe operating conditions before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the conditions of the truck at the beginning and end of each trip or tour of duty\nCheck shipping papers to determine the nature of load and verify for accuracy\nAbide by Texas or FMCSA Hours of Service\nLoad and unload trucks with forklift\nGeneral knowledge of minor repair (replace safety lights, repair electrical connections & etc)\nSmall engine repairs and general maintenance / repairs \nReport all accidents and incidents involving drivers and company equipment\nReport highway safety hazards noted in route\nPromptly report any delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies\nMaintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver's record of duty status, mileage records and other records required by law\nBe able to maneuver and handle tractor/trailers up to 53'\nupport catering operations by organizing and transporting food items and supplies to various locations.\nSet up and break down kitchen areas for banquets, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.\nAssist in stocking and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients.\nTravel to various job sites to assist in catering operations, working alongside the culinary team.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nExperience:\n2+ years driving experience \n\nKnowledge and Skills:\nHave a driving record in good standing, free of any major violations\nMust have knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems\nMust have knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspections, and maintenance\nHave the ability to work well with others\nAbility to communicate effectively with fellow employees\nLight to heavy lifting involved\nMust be able to meet deadlines as required based on jobs assigned\nMust have a positive attitude\nBe able to read maps\nBe safety-oriented\nHave an attention to detail\nAbility to drive/travel as pertains to business needs\nDisclaimer\nThis Job Description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent(s).
