Join us in shaping the careers of those who will build and maintain our world and embark on a transformative journey towards a fulfilling career. \nLocation: 1150 Greenbrier Pkwy, Chesapeake, VA 23320\nCompensation: Up to $24/hour\nSchedule: Monday - Thursday: 5:30 PM - 10:45 PM\nPosition Purpose \nThe Medical Assistant Instructor is responsible for providing subject matter instruction to students in a classroom or lab setting. This position is required to teach assigned classes as scheduled or as assigned, and perform administrative functions related to teaching. \nKey Duties \nTeach classes on a regularly scheduled basis assigned and create a welcoming environment for students that is conducive to learning. \nAssist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, class scheduling, and maintaining tools and equipment used by students.\nMaintain a neat and orderly classroom or lab.\nEstablish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files. Medical Assistant Instructor\nSubmit attendance, grades, student evaluations, and all other reports/documentation to Supervisor or appropriate personnel as required by established procedures.\nNotify Supervisor of any current or potential issues which warrant immediate attention.\nUtilize proven retention techniques approved by the school to assist students.\nComplete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor, based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student completed surveys.\nAttend and/or conduct in-service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings.\nAssist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit replenishment requests to Supervisor or appropriate personnel.\nAlert Supervisor to student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences. \nPerform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by the Supervisor. \nRequired Qualifications \nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a satisfactory manner. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. \nMinimum of an Associate’s Degree if teaching in a degree program.\nMust have a minimum of 3 years related practical work experience in the subject matter. \nRMA or CCMA certification. BLS current or within 6 months of hire date.\nMust demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge and continue study of the subject matter. \nAbility to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment. \nDetail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. \nDemonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism. \nPersuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting. \nHighly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills. \nMust be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Medical Assistant Instructor\nExcellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. \nExhibits a positive, team-oriented attitude by remaining flexible and available to work outside of scheduled hours when needed, as directed by the Supervisor.\nAbility and willingness to travel locally or overnight occasionally for business. \nCotulla Education is a proud equal-opportunity employer.
