This leader will own category strategies for warehouse automation, robotics, material handling equipment (MHE), sortation systems, industrial controls, conveyor systems, and related technology infrastructure.\nThe successful candidate will drive cost optimization, supplier innovation, risk mitigation, and long-term procurement strategies that support Coupang's operational excellence and growth objectives \nWhat You Will Do\n Category Strategy & LeadershipDevelop and execute multi-year category strategies for automation-related spend.\nManage procurement activities across robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), conveyor and sortation systems, warehouse control systems, industrial automation, sensors, and related technologies.\nAlign sourcing strategies with Operations, Engineering, Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Finance, and Capital Projects teams.\nBuild procurement roadmaps supporting network expansion and automation initiatives.\n\n Strategic SourcingLead high-value sourcing events, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations.\nDeliver measurable savings, total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements, and value creation initiatives.\nEvaluate global and regional suppliers for capability, quality, scalability, and innovation.\nDrive supplier consolidation where appropriate while ensuring business continuity.\n\nSupplier Relationship ManagementEstablish executive-level relationships with key automation suppliers.\nLead supplier performance reviews and governance programs.\nDevelop strategic partnerships that accelerate innovation and operational efficiency.\nManage supplier risk, capacity planning, and business continuity strategies.\n\nCommercial & Contract ManagementNegotiate complex commercial agreements, framework contracts, maintenance agreements, and service-level commitments.\nEnsure favorable terms regarding pricing, warranties, service support, intellectual property, and performance guarantees.\nPartner with Legal and Finance teams to manage contract compliance.\n\nCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Engineering and Operations teams on automation deployment projects.\nSupport capital expenditure planning and procurement governance.\nDrive procurement involvement from project conception through implementation.\nInfluence stakeholders across multiple business units and geographies.\n\nTeam LeadershipLead and develop a high-performing category management team.\nEstablish procurement best practices, processes, and performance metrics.\nFoster a data-driven and customer-focused culture.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree with 15+ years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 7 years in infrastructure categories.\nStrong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and contract management expertise.\nExperience managing global teams and multi-region supplier portfolios.\nProficiency in procurement platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) and data analytics tools.\nOutstanding Leadership and Management Skills: Excellent problem-solving, team, and time management skills, with the ability to evaluate and counsel subordinates effectively.\nExceptional Negotiation and Analytical Abilities: Strong reputation as a negotiator, leading complex agreements with suppliers, and deep understanding of cost drivers and cost models.\nStrategic and Results-Oriented Leadership: Known for employing fact-based analysis, world-class process expertise, and leading by example to achieve breakthrough performance.\nGlobal Experience and Executive Presence: Significant executive presence, ability to represent the organization effectively.\nRecruitment Process \nApplication Review -
