While responsible for architectural leadership and policy definition, you will also contribute to software development, automation initiatives, and technical implementation to enable scalable security solutions throughout Coupang.\nWhat You Will Do\nArchitect and scale enterprise security foundations for Coupang’s rapidly growing business, establishing reference architectures, security standards, and governance frameworks across identity and access management, authentication, authorization, cryptographic services, and data protection.\nDesign and implement security architecture for large-scale distributed systems, ensuring secure access to business-critical applications, infrastructure, and internal platforms.\nDefine and govern security policies, authorization models, policy languages, and security frameworks that enable consistent implementation across engineering organizations.\nBuild security automation solutions and security platforms using modern software engineering practices, with a focus on improving scalability, consistency, and operational efficiency.\nPartner closely with software engineers, infrastructure teams, platform owners, and security leaders to embed security requirements into system design and development lifecycles.\nDrive the architecture and evolution of identity and access management ecosystems, including authentication systems, authorization services, credential management platforms, and enterprise access control frameworks.\nReview complex system designs and provide architectural guidance for highly secure environments, balancing business requirements with security, scalability, and operational needs.\nEstablish best practices for applied cryptography, key management, PKI infrastructure, and secure credential lifecycle management.\nContribute hands-on technical solutions through coding, prototyping, automation, and security tooling development, primarily leveraging Python and related technologies.\nContinuously improve Coupang’s security posture by identifying security gaps, evaluating emerging technologies, and driving strategic security initiatives across the organization.\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.\n8+ years of experience or 10+ years of experience in security engineering, security architecture, platform engineering, or related technical disciplines.\nDeep expertise in at least one of the following security domains:\nIdentity and Access Management (IAM)\nAuthentication and Authorization (OIDC, OAuth 2.0, Federation)\nApplied Cryptography and Key Management\nCredential Management\nPublic Key Infrastructure (PKI)\nSecurity Policy Frameworks and Access Management Platforms\nStrong understanding of secure system design principles in large-scale distributed environments.\nHands-on software development experience with Python and the ability to design, develop, and automate security solutions.\nExperience driving architecture decisions across complex infrastructure and platform environments.\nAbility to solve ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges through systems thinking and strong engineering judgment.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence engineers, architects, and technical leadership.\nEnglish proficiency is helpful but not required; deep technical expertise and domain knowledge are more important.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience designing and securing large-scale enterprise environments comparable in complexity to major financial institutions, global technology companies, large cloud providers, or highly regulated enterprises.\nDeep expertise in one or more specialized areas:\nOIDC, OAuth 2.0, Federation, and Access Governance\nApplied Cryptography and Enterprise Key Management\nCredential Lifecycle Management\nPKI Design and Operations\nPolicy Languages and Authorization Frameworks\nExperience building or operating enterprise-scale IAM, Zero Trust, or Access Management platforms.\nUnderstanding of intrusion detection, threat detection, or security monitoring concepts.\nExperience designing infrastructure platforms and distributed systems at significant scale.\nDemonstrated ability to balance architectural leadership with hands-on implementation and technical execution.\nExperience working in high-growth technology environments where organizational scale and system complexity evolve rapidly.\nIndustry certifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent are a plus.\nRecruitment Process\nApplication Review -
