Fulfillment Technology focuses on managing highly scalable systems for Coupang that includes Inventory and Warehouse Management systems. Building highly available and scalable systems to handle billions of order & delivery transactions and support Coupang’s rapidly growing Product Commerce business is a complex architectural challenge. We are responsible for delivering products to millions of online shopping customers by improving order reconciliation with technology. To deliver on this challenge, we are looking for an experienced and passionate engineer who can design and build large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed services.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDemonstrate excellence resulting in scalable systems and services with the highest quality architecture and design.\nResponsible for designing, building, deploying and maintaining the core Workflow Platform Infrastructure. (e.g., Workflow Platforms - Temporal, Netflix Conductor etc.)\nResponsible for benchmarking the Platform, collecting metrics & publishing results.\nResponsible for measuring & ensuring reliability and uptime of the Platform with 99.995% guarantees.\nResponsible for capacity estimation & provisioning of cluster for different customer workloads.\nResponsible for production incident Monitoring & Alerting for the Platform.\nDetail oriented and hands on engineer who can analyze OSS Platform components and code.\nDive deep into critical system issues, proactively addressing similar root causes, and raise the bar on Operational Excellence.\nExposure to one of the SQL or NoSQL database systems. (Cassandra, MySQL etc.)\nCollaborate with other teams to make the platform open and extensible to unlock innumerable opportunities for innovations.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or a closely related field\n8 years of experience in backend software development\nExperience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS\nDemonstrated experience in building and maintaining highly available, distributed systems\nPreferred Qualifications:\n10 years of experience working directly within engineering teams in a fast-moving environment.\n10 years of experience in developing and operating backend services and web applications.\nExperience building complex, high-performance, and highly available distributed software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.\nStrong familiarity developing with Java and Spring Framework as well as experience in an AWS environment.\nExtensive experience in managing mission critical services with high throughput and low latency.\nSolid engineering skills as a lead engineer to coach and lead high performing software engineers and keep them motivated.\nExcellent communication skills to shepherd communication with end users, technical & business teams to collect requirements, describe product features, and develop technical designs to achieve business goals.\nKnowledge of Agile software engineering practices & patterns for the full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing, and live site operations.\nDemonstrated leadership in cross-functional, highly collaborative environment.\nPay & Benefits:\nOur compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.\nThe base pay for this position ranges from $174,000/year to $299,000/year.
