Search and Recommendations drive over 70% of product discovery for our millions of daily customers, so the scale and impact of our work is massive!\nWithin S&D, the Data Science and Analytics team analyzes customer data to determine how our Search models should be designed. We partner with Product and Engineering to turn these insights into changes to our Search models.\nWhat You Will Do \nIdeate, build, and manage analytics and production data ETL/ELT systems for high-volume data ingestion from diverse sources\nPartner with Data Science, Engineering, and Product to enable reliable, accurate logging/implementation and usage of Search data\nEnsure data quality, observability, and reliability across the data lifecycle\nOptimize systems for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability\nDefine and manage SLAs for data systems\nEnsure security and compliance of data per industry standards\nBasic Qualifications \n6 years of relevant industry experience as a data engineer in a technology company\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent\nProficiency in Data modeling, ETL, Python and SQL\nPreferred Qualifications \n8+ years experience in data/engineering overall\nExperience with distributed processing technologies and frameworks and distributed storage systems (e.g. HDFS, S3)\nExperience with ETL schedulers (e.g. Airflow, Dagster, DBT) \nExperience with massive datasets, with an understanding of how to optimize data extraction\nExpertise in experimentation and statistics\nUnderstanding of ML concepts, and how different model configurations affect model outcomes\nExperience in e-commerce and/or search\nPay & Benefits\nOur compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.\nThe base pay for this position ranges from $164,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $282,000/year in our highest geographic market.
