Join Coupang now to create an epic experience in this always-on, high-tech, and hyper-connected world.\nRole Overview\nWe are looking for a Staff Software Engineer, Security Engineering to lead the design and development of internal platforms, tools, and automation that help protect sensitive data across the organization. \nThis role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys building scalable backend systems, working with large-scale data platforms, and partnering with security, privacy, compliance, and engineering teams. You will help improve how the company discovers, reviews, governs, and reduces sensitive data exposure through well-designed software systems and automation. \nWhat You Will Do\nDesign and build internal platforms and tools to support sensitive data discovery, review workflows, access governance, risk tracking, and remediation. \n\nDevelop backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and automation workflows that help teams identify, analyze, and reduce sensitive data exposure. \n\nIntegrate with large-scale data systems such as object storage, databases, data warehouses, streaming platforms, metadata systems, and production services. \n\nWork closely with security, data platform, and product engineering teams to translate business and risk requirements into practical engineering solutions. \n\nPartner with data owners and platform teams to improve how sensitive data is stored, accessed, transformed, shared, and monitored.\n\nBasic Qualifications\nSoftware engineering experience, especially in backend, platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems development. \n\nGood programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Java, Go, Scala, or similar languages. \n\nGood understanding of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS services, IAM concepts, permissions, logging, and access patterns. \n\nType of work model\nHybrid\nOur Hybrid work model: Coupang hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration that acts a catalyst to enrich the experience of employees.
