Links can be inputted on the resumes. \nWe are seeking two senior-level developers focused on .NET development and front-end, UI/UX work to support and enhance enterprise applications serving Iowans across state programs. These are hands-on roles for developers who build the .NET backend and the user-facing front end, and who can hit the ground running with modern best practices.\nThe current environment uses Bootstrap and Material. The State is transitioning toward an enterprise design system across teams and AWS in the future. Candidates must already understand enterprise design systems and be able to work within one independently, without foundational training. Accessibility is the core purpose of this role. Every deliverable must meet WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508, and accessibility is weighted as heavily as the technical focus.\nRole Weighting\n.NET and C# development: approximately 40 percent\nFront-end development, UI, and UX: approximately 40 percent\nMiddleware and APIs: approximately 10 percent\nSQL Server: approximately 10 percent\nAccessibility: a heavy, core requirement across all of the work above\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop, enhance, and support enterprise applications using .NET and C#, including MVC and Web Forms where they remain in the environment.\nBuild front-end interfaces using HTML5, CSS, Sass, and JavaScript, translating designs into responsive, production-quality pages and components.\nApply UX and UI best practices and design thinking in the front end, including layout, interaction patterns, and usability, and collaborate with designers on implementation details.\nImplement and extend components within the current Bootstrap and Material environment and the enterprise design system as it rolls out, understanding how a design system differs from a component library or framework.\nCode to WCAG 2.1 AA and remediate accessibility issues, testing with assistive technologies such as JAWS and automated tools such as axe.\nDesign, build, and maintain backend services and APIs, with supporting middleware and SQL Server work as needed.\nApply secure coding practices, including appropriate use of encryption APIs, and handle classified and sensitive data in accordance with state requirements.\nManage source control, deployments, and CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps.\nTroubleshoot and resolve production issues across applications and environments.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in human-Computer Interaction (HCI), design, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A graduate degree in HCI is preferred. A degree in design or HCI combined with a solid coding background is preferred. Multiple degrees and certifications are valued.\nStrong .NET and C# development experience, and strong front-end development experience. These two areas are the core of the role.\nDemonstrated UX and UI knowledge: design thinking, usability principles, responsive design, and experience turning designs into working interfaces. A portfolio should show UI work, not only backend code.\nFront-end depth in HTML5, CSS, Sass, and JavaScript.\nFormal WCAG training and demonstrated experience coding and testing for WCAG 2.1 AA, including hands-on use of accessibility testing tools.\nRecent experience (within the last three years) with current frameworks and modern best practices.
