Covetrus is headquartered in Portland, Maine, with more than 5,000 employees, serving over 100,000 customers around the globe.\nSUMMARY\nOur Fort Worth, TX Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Technician, who under general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and in accordance with standard departmental procedures, will prepare medication for animal consumption. Supports the company mission, vision, and values.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nPerforms duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. \nAreas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. \nWork is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies. \nRead and interpret veterinarian orders received in pharmacy and transcribe same onto a pharmacy computer medication profile. \nPrepare in accordance with standards of pharmacy practice compounds for use under direct pharmacist supervision. \nPrepare in accordance with pharmacy law and standards of pharmacy practice, prescriptions to be dispensed after pharmacist approval. \nCheck and remove outdated meds on a routine basis to ensure that no deteriorated meds are in stock. Keep appropriate records. QUALIFICATIONS: \nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nPharmacy Technician experience preferred. \nHigh School diploma or GED. \nRegistered as a Pharmacy Technician with state(s) \nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\nCpHT Certification preferred. \nCOMPETENCIES (SKILLS AND ABILITIES)\nPerform basic math sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement correctly and consistently. \nOperate a calculator proficiently. \nInteract with computer software via a keyboard. \nPay attention to details and retain information readily. \nRead, comprehend, and translate regulations & laws into understandable instructions. \nCommunicate verbally in a professional manner with co-workers, shareholders and other contacts. \nFunction effectively as a team player. \nKnowledge of basic principles, theories and laws, policies and procedures that pertain to compounding. \nExhibit punctuality and low absenteeism. \nKnowledge of mail order pharmacy preferred. \nThis full-time position provides:\nMedical, dental, vision, and other insurance options\n401(k) with company match\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan\nProgressive Flexible Time Off (FTO) and Paid Time Off (PTO) plans\nPaid holidays\nGrowth opportunities and more!\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
