This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the delivery of complex and high-profile projects across a range of subsectors, including highways, rail, aviation, data centres and buildings within infrastructure.\nWhile our portfolio has a clear focus on major infrastructure projects, we are looking for individuals who bring broad mechanical engineering services expertise and are eager to work on diverse, multidisciplinary projects that shape the built environment.\nYour key responsibilities will be:\nOverseeing the design and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across a variety of projects.\nDeveloping and review mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.\nCoordinating with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, architectural, electrical, fire, and systems engineers.\nManaging interfaces with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.\nEnsuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and project requirements, including Network Rail, HS2, TfL, British Standards, and Building Regulations where applicable.\nSupporting design reviews, technical assurance processes, and risk management activities.\nMentoring and support junior engineers and technicians.\nContribute to project planning, programme management, and resource forecasting.\nYour skills. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.\nOn top of that, you’ll have:\nA degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline\nAchieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) or be working towards it\nIn-depth knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, smoke control, natural ventilation, CHW, LTHW and refrigerant-based systems\nExperience working through all project stages from feasibility and concept design to detailed design and construction support\nSolid knowledge of British Standards and Building Regulations\nKnowledge of rail standards and experience delivering mechanical engineering designs for major infrastructure projects\nGood knowledge of IES software\nA place to work and so much more.\nAt COWI, we work together with our customers to shape a sustainable and liveable world.
