This is a customer-facing position responsible for handling inbound customer inquiries via both phone & email. This role is a first line of contact for customers. Billing Specialists partner with various departments to support the customer & internal teams. Activities include conducting research, processing & auditing invoices, & assisting customers with other billing-related requests. They are also responsible for managing the approval workflow & other customer-facing processes.\nPrimary Duties / Key Responsibilities\nProcess billing transactions, invoices, credits, and account adjustments accurately and within established timelines.\n\nSet up and maintain customer accounts within billing systems.\n\nReview, verify, and audit billing information to ensure accuracy and completeness.\n\nResearch and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and customer inquiries.\n\nPost payments and adjustments to customer accounts.\n\nMonitor billing reports and identify exceptions or potential issues.\n\nAssist with collections-related activities and payment tracking as needed.\n\nPartner with internal departments to gather information and resolve billing concerns.\n\nMaintain accurate records and supporting documentation.\n\nFollow company billing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.\n\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives that enhance billing efficiency and accuracy.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nRequired Experience & Specialized Knowledge & Skills\n• High school diploma/GED with 2+ years of billing-related experience, preferably in a customer-facing role. Any level degree or certification beyond HS Diploma or GED will have 1+ year of relevant experience.\n• Ability to articulate issues, document resolution, & recognize when to escalate\n• Strong written & verbal communication skills required\n• Effective accounting, organizational, attention to detail, & time management skills required\n• Excellent computer & software knowledge essential, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, with Oracle\n• Experience working with customers or vendors to resolve issues with an excellent customer service track record\nDrug TestingTo be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test.
