PhD candidates with a strong relevant research background who expect to obtain their degree within the next six months will also be considered;\n\nHave hands-on research experience in chemical biology, particularly protein immobilisation, bioconjugation, protein modification or surface functionalisation;\n\nPossess practical knowledge of protein biochemistry and experience in developing or optimising biochemical assays involving enzymes or other functional proteins;\n\nDemonstrate an understanding of the chemical principles underlying protein-surface interactions, conjugation chemistry and the effects of chemical modification on protein structure and function;\n\nDemonstrate the ability to independently design experiments, develop and optimise laboratory protocols, troubleshoot experimental problems and critically interpret quantitative data;\n\nHave good scientific writing and communication skills in English and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary research team; and\n\nDemonstrate research achievements appropriate to their career stage. Experience in site-specific protein conjugation, enzyme kinetics, biosensor development or quantitative data analysis using Python, R, MATLAB or equivalent software would be an advantage.\n\nTerms and Conditions for Appointment\nAn attractive remuneration package, including basic salary and an end-of-contract gratuity will be offered to the right candidates.
