This is a senior, client-facing leadership role with responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients and leading a team of qualified and trainee accountants.\nThis is a fully remote role, designed to provide flexibility and autonomy while maintaining strong collaboration and client relationships. The role includes, on average, quarterly in-person team meetings, together with ad hoc in-person client meetings, industry events and other business events where required.\nThe role is ideal for an ambitious, commercially minded accounting professional who thrives on delivering outstanding value and service to clients, including larger and more complex organisations.\nAs Accounting Manager, you will play an important role in delivering excellent client service, developing high-performing teams and identifying opportunities to create additional value for clients and the wider practice.\nKey Responsibilities\nClient Portfolio Management\nTake full responsibility for the revenue and margin performance of your client portfolio.\nBe accountable for client satisfaction and reducing client churn.\nBuild and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.\nWork in partnership with clients to understand their needs and identify opportunities to deliver additional services and value.\nAct as a trusted advisor to clients, particularly larger and more complex organisations.\nEnsure clients receive consistently high-quality, commercially focused accounting and advisory support.\nTeam Leadership & Management\nLead, develop and manage a team of qualified and trainee accountants.\nEnsure the team delivers against individual and collective KPIs and performance targets.\nProvide coaching, mentoring and support to enhance technical and professional development.\nDevelop and maintain a high-performance culture where deadlines are consistently met and quality standards are exceeded.\nConduct regular performance and development conversations with team members.\nSupport the creation and implementation of individual professional development plans for team members.\nIdentify skills gaps and opportunities for training, progression and career development.\nPromote a collaborative, supportive and accountable remote-working culture.\nOperational Excellence\nEnsure all compliance, statutory and internal deadlines are achieved for your portfolio.\nOversee workflow planning and resource allocation within the team to maximise efficiency.\nMonitor team performance and address issues proactively to maintain delivery standards.\nDrive continuous improvement in processes, controls and client service delivery.\nEnsure appropriate quality control and review procedures are consistently followed.\nIdentify opportunities to improve the use of technology, automation and systems across the team.\nCommercial & Strategic Contribution\nTake ownership of achieving agreed revenue, margin and value-added sales targets.\nIdentify opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and expand service offerings.\nSupport the development of commercial strategies within the practice to maximise profitability.\nAct as a key link between clients and the wider firm, ensuring client feedback and insights contribute to practice growth.\nContribute to the ongoing development of the firms service offering, systems and strategic direction.\nSupport initiatives that strengthen client retention, profitability and overall practice performance.\nQualifications & Experience\nACCA, ACA or FCA qualified.\nMinimum 7 years' post-qualification experience.\nDemonstrated experience at a senior level within an accountancy practice.\nStrong background in managing large clients and complex, multi-entity or high-value portfolios.\nProven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.\nMinimum 5 years' people management experience.\nProven experience implementing strategic initiatives and contributing to wider business direction.\nCommercially astute, with a consistent track record of delivering value and driving client satisfaction.\nStrong communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to operate confidently with senior client stakeholders.\nHighly organised, dependable and capable of managing competing priorities in a remote environment.\nA proactive approach to identifying opportunities, solving problems and improving processes.\nSalary & Benefits\nCompensation\n €61,000 -
