This is a fast-paced role suited to a candidate who is highly proficient in Excel and comfortable working to tight deadlines with large datasets.\nKey Responsibilities\nMonth-end close support - Support the end-to-end month-end process, ensuring deadlines are met and the close timetable is adhered to.\nBalance sheet reconciliations - Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations across multiple accounts, identifying and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner, and escalating unresolved discrepancies to the Financial Controller.\nP&L support - Assist with month-end P&L preparation, variance analysis, and commentary on movements against budget/forecast.\nLarge dataset management - Extract, manipulate, and analyse large volumes of transactional data to support reconciliation and reporting requirements.\nProcess improvement - Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of month-end processes, including reconciliation templates and reporting workflows.\nAudit support - Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audit queries relating to balance sheet and P&L items.\nAd hoc analysis - Respond to ad hoc requests from the Financial Controller/Finance Manager for financial analysis and reporting.\nRequired Experience and Qualifications\nPart-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent), actively pursuing final qualification.\nExperience within Republic of Ireland\nIrish Citizen, EU Passport or valid Stamp 1G/4 visa for duration of contract\nProven experience in a fast-paced finance function, with direct exposure to month-end close.\nStrong, demonstrable experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations at volume.\nExperience supporting P&L month-end processes, including variance analysis.\nExtremely proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, large dataset handling) - this is a core requirement, not a preference.\nExperience working with large, complex datasets and extracting them from ERP/finance systems.\nStrong attention to detail and comfortable working under time pressure during close periods.\nDesirable\nExperience with [ERP system - e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics].\nExposure to process automation or reconciliation tools (e.g., Power Query, Power BI, BlackLine).\nExperience in a shared services or multi-entity group environment.\nKey Competencies\nAnalytical and numerate, with the ability to work accurately at pace.\nOrganised, with the discipline to manage a demanding close timetable across multiple workstreams.\nClear communicator, able to explain reconciling items and variances to non-finance stakeholders.\nProactive -
