The Buildings & Estates team is responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure and delivering projects that support the continued development and operation of the university campus.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are seeking a Project Coordinator / Building Services Support professional to join the University's Buildings & Estates team on an immediate temporary basis.\nWorking closely with the Head of Building Services, Mechanical Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, and wider Estates team, you will provide project and operational support across a range of infrastructure and facilities projects. A key focus of the role will be supporting the Lab Gases Infrastructure Upgrade Programme, while coordinating a variety of building services, maintenance, and estates-related activities across the campus.\nThis position is ideally suited to candidates with experience in project coordination, facilities management, engineering, construction, maintenance, or technical operations environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the planning, coordination, and delivery of small to medium-scale Buildings & Estates projects.\nCoordinate project schedules, stakeholder communications, site access requirements, and project close-out activities.\nSupport the Lab Gases Infrastructure Upgrade Programme, including contractor liaison, access coordination, programme tracking, and issue resolution.\nAssist with reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), work planning, and project documentation.\nLiaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and external service providers to ensure efficient project delivery.\nSupport mechanical, electrical, and building services-related inspections and follow-up actions.\nAssist with compliance documentation, service reports, asset information, and operational reporting requirements.\nCoordinate maintenance and project actions through facilities management and helpdesk systems such as PEMAC or equivalent.\nSupport business continuity across critical building services including HVAC, electrical systems, water services, life-safety systems, and laboratory infrastructure.\nAssist in the planning and coordination of MV/electrical shutdowns and other critical infrastructure works, including communication, contractor management, and documentation.\nProvide additional support to the Buildings & Estates team as required.\nExperience Required\nExperience within project coordination, facilities management, estates, engineering, construction, maintenance, or a technical operational environment.\nProven experience coordinating contractors, consultants, suppliers, or multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive actions to completion.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nWorking knowledge of health & safety requirements, risk assessments, method statements, site access controls, and safe systems of work.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using maintenance management, helpdesk, or project tracking systems.\nAbility to coordinate planned works, minor projects, shutdowns, and operational activities while maintaining accurate records and documentation.\nFlexibility to support occasional out-of-hours planned works and critical infrastructure shutdowns when required.\nDesirable Experience\nExperience working within higher education, healthcare, laboratory, industrial, commercial, public sector, or complex facilities environments.\nExposure to building services, M&E systems, utilities, technical facilities, or infrastructure upgrade projects.\nFamiliarity with BMS, energy management initiatives, asset management systems, and maintenance reporting.\nExperience coordinating permits, RAMS, contractor performance, procurement activities, service reports, and project close-out documentation.\nCandidate Profile\nThe ideal candidate will be a proactive and organised professional who can quickly integrate into a busy operational environment.
