The role will lead quality audits, corrective-action activities, quality performance analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and supply operations.\nReporting directly to the Plant Manager, this is a key position with significant interaction across the business, including R&D, Procurement, Production, Warehouse, Sales, Customer Service, suppliers, customers, and Senior Management.\nCandidate Profile\nThe successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of three years’ hands-on experience within a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment, supported by strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.\nExperience and knowledge in the following areas would be highly desirable:\nSheet metal fabrication processes, including:Turret Punch\nPress Brake\nWelding\n\nAbility to interpret basic electrical circuit drawings and specifications.\nKnowledge of cables, crimping, switches, and lighting components.\nStrong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.\nExperience working with quality systems, audits, non-conformances, and corrective actions.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.\nIT & Systems Skills\nAdvanced Excel skills are essential, including:\nPivot Tables\nVLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and other lookup functions\nComplex formulas\nData analysis\nData presentation and reporting\nExperience with SAP and AutoCAD Inventor would be an advantage.\nKey Responsibilities\nQuality Engineering & Compliance\nLead ISO certification audits and other relevant regulatory or customer audits.\nCoordinate audit preparation, evidence gathering, responses, and follow-up actions.\nIdentify root causes of non-conformances and implement effective corrective actions.\nCreate, manage, and close out Corrective Action Reports (CARs).\nEnsure corrective actions are completed within agreed timescales and are effective in preventing recurrence.\nReview and update quality procedures, policies, and documentation.\nEnsure quality systems remain effective, compliant, and aligned with business requirements.\nQuality Data & Performance\nCollect, analyse, and report quality data and trends.\nMaintain and monitor Quality KPIs.\nPrepare regular quality reports and management information.\nPresent quality performance and key trends to Senior Management.\nIdentify opportunities for improvement through analysis of quality data.\nCustomer Quality\nWork closely with Customer Service to identify trends and recurring issues from customer calls and complaints.\nInvestigate customer-related quality issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.\nIdentify opportunities to improve product and service quality based on customer feedback.\nContinuous Improvement\nApply COPIS methodology when introducing new processes.\nSupport and coordinate continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and supply operations.\nWork collaboratively with departments to identify process improvements, reduce quality issues, and improve overall operational performance.\nSupplier Quality\nManage supplier returns, quality issues, and associated credits.\nLiaise directly with suppliers regarding quality concerns and corrective actions.\nMonitor supplier performance and ensure quality issues are effectively resolved.\nCommunication & Coordination\nHost and facilitate regular Quality Meetings.\nWork closely with R&D, Procurement, Production, Warehouse, Sales, Customer Service, and Senior Management.\nProvide quality expertise and support across the organisation.\nProduce specific quality reports and analysis as required by management.\nKey Competencies\nThe successful candidate will demonstrate:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving ability.\nExcellent attention to detail.\nPractical manufacturing knowledge.\nStrong understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement.\nAdvanced Excel and data-analysis capability.\nEffective communication and stakeholder-management skills.\nAbility to work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments.\nA proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.\nStrong organisational and project-management skills.\nGraduate Quality Engineer BackgroundStrong Mechanical and Electrical aptitude and experience.
