Here, you’ll contributeto outcomes that matter alongside team members committed to excellence and shared success.\nThe Role\nAs an Associate, Product Control, on a 9-month contract, you will support investment operations across public or private markets, with a focus on accurate investment accounting, daily Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting, portfolio monitoring and valuations.\nYou will prepare, validate and analyze investment performance and financial results, investigate P&L variances, and collaborate with Investment, Finance, Legal and Risk teams to resolve discrepancies, maintain strong financial controls and drive operational excellence.\nThe Team\nInvestment Operations supports CPP Investments' public and private market investment activities through transaction management, asset servicing, investment accounting, reporting and valuations. The function helps maintain accurate investment records, effective financial controls and reliable information to support investment activities.\nAccountabilities\nPrepare, validate and analyze daily P&L reporting, investigate variances and exceptions, perform attribution analysis, and reconcile results across source systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting.\nOversee daily investment accounting and portfolio monitoring activities, including validation of investment book of record (IBOR), sub-ledger and accounting book of record (ABOR) data, transaction records and supporting documentation.\nPartner with Investment, Finance, Legal and Risk teams to support investment closings, including documentation reviews, system setups, transaction processing, settlements and appropriate authorizations.\nSupport complex investment transactions, assessing their impact on accounting, financial reporting and investment performance across relevant asset classes.\nReview financial statements, note disclosures and management reports for accuracy and completeness, providing meaningful analysis and commentary.\nSupport monthly and quarterly valuation reviews, validate valuation adjustments, investigate inconsistencies and escalate issues to management as appropriate.\nCollaborate with internal investment teams and external asset managers to resolve operational issues, strengthen reporting controls, document processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.\nWhat You Bring\nUndergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field.\n5+ years of relevant professional experience.\nProfessional designation such as Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is considered an asset.\nStrong analytical skills, with a solid understanding of financial and management accounting principles.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.\nKnowledge of Murex and/or SimCorp systems is considered an asset.\nStrong problem-solving and collaboration skills, with the ability to investigate financial discrepancies, support accurate reporting and identify process improvements.\nYou are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.\nWe provide colleagues with cutting-edge AI tools, dedicated learning time, and practical support to help them deliver with greater impact.\nInclusion & Accessibility\nCPP Investments is committed to equitable access to employment and building a workforce that reflects diverse talent and perspectives.
