Reporting to the Director, Active Equities Technology, you will partner with investment professionals, data teams, and technology colleagues to deliver scalable applications, analytical platforms, and data-driven products. You will champion engineering excellence, modern software development practices, and AI-assisted development while helping shape the technical direction of the team's cloud-native technology platforms.\nThe Team\nTechnology & Operations enables CPP Investments to deliver on its global investment mandate through secure, resilient, and innovative technology capabilities. The department partners across the organization to develop modern platforms, engineering capabilities, and data solutions that support investment decision-making and operational excellence.\nThe Active Equities Technology team partners closely with investment professionals to build technology solutions that support portfolio management, investment research, trading, and analytics. The team develops scalable software products, data platforms, and cloud-native applications while advancing engineering practices and leveraging emerging technologies to improve investment outcomes.\nAccountabilities\nLead the end-to-end design, development, deployment, and support of scalable technology solutions that enable Active Equities investment capabilities in an Agile environment.\n\nProvide technical leadership and architectural guidance to ensure solutions are secure, resilient, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise engineering standards.\n\nDevelop modern full-stack applications using Python, React or Plotly Dash, APIs, and cloud-native technologies to support portfolio management, research, and analytics.\n\nDrive engineering excellence by promoting clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.\n\nDesign and implement scalable data pipelines and analytical workflows in partnership with data engineering and business intelligence teams.\n\nEvaluate and apply emerging technologies, including Generative AI and AI-assisted development tools, to improve engineering productivity and software quality.\n\nMentor engineers, lead complex technical problem-solving, and build strong partnerships across business and technology teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions.\n\nWhat You Bring\nUndergraduate degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\nMinimum of 8 years of progressive software engineering experience, including leading complex technical initiatives and enterprise application development.\n\nStrong experience designing and developing enterprise applications using Python and modern front-end technologies such as React or Plotly Dash.\n\nExperience building scalable APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and modern software solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud platforms.\n\nStrong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure automation, production support, and Agile software development methodologies.\n\nExperience building data pipelines and working with modern data platforms; Databricks experience is considered an asset.\n\nExcellent communication, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.\n\nYou are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.\nWe provide colleagues with cutting-edge AI tools, dedicated learning time, and practical support to help them deliver with greater impact.\nInclusion & Accessibility\nCPP Investments is committed to equitable access to employment and building a workforce that reflects diverse talent and perspectives.
