Operating as a senior individual contributor at the Director level, you will influence enterprise-wide technical decisions, strengthen engineering practices, and ensure technology platforms remain scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with CPP Investments' long-term investment objectives. Working across multiple teams, you will help shape how technology enables investment decision-making, risk management, and operational excellence.\nThe Team\nAccountabilities\nDefine and evolve architectural direction across critical technology platforms and data capabilities, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and engineering standards.\n\nProvide technical leadership on complex, cross-functional initiatives, making informed trade-offs across scalability, resilience, performance, security, cost, and operational sustainability.\n\nPartner with Technology Architecture & Practices and peer Principal Engineers to establish architectural consistency and long-term platform sustainability.\n\nRaise engineering standards across the organization by mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical decision-making through sound architectural judgement.\n\nStrengthen DevOps maturity, deployment reliability, observability, and secure-by-design engineering practices across technology teams.\n\nAdvance data product maturity by improving ownership, interoperability, integration, and trusted consumption patterns.\n\nGuide the responsible adoption of Generative AI and automation while reducing unnecessary technology proliferation and architectural fragmentation.\n\nWhat You Bring\nDemonstrated experience leading architecture and engineering strategy across complex enterprise technology environments.\n\nDeep expertise in distributed systems architecture, cloud technologies, software engineering, and modern engineering practices.\n\nStrong understanding of DevOps, platform engineering, security-by-design, observability, and operational resilience.\n\nExperience designing and enabling scalable data platforms, data integration, and data product capabilities.\n\nAbility to influence senior technical leaders and business stakeholders through sound technical judgement and collaborative leadership.\n\nProven ability to mentor senior engineers and drive engineering excellence across multiple teams.\n\nExperience evaluating emerging technologies, including Generative AI, and applying them responsibly within enterprise environments.\n\nYou are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.\nWe provide colleagues with cutting-edge AI tools, dedicated learning time, and practical support to help them deliver with greater impact.\nInclusion & Accessibility\nCPP Investments is committed to equitable access to employment and building a workforce that reflects diverse talent and perspectives.
