Role summary

We're looking for a Back End Developer who doesn't stop at the symptom, but digs until they find the root cause. You'll work with C# and SQL to build and maintain reliable application logic, while keeping the whole picture in view: frontend, APIs, data, integrations, testing, deployment, and monitoring. This role is for an engineer who values clean, maintainable solutions over code volume, delivers in small, reviewable increments, and keeps the end user's outcome at the center of every decision.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain back-end components – design, build, and improve application logic in C#, with a focus on clarity, maintainability, and reliability.

Work with data and databases – write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and data structures that support application features and integrations.

Investigate and solve problems at their root – analyze issues across the full application flow (frontend, APIs, data, integrations, deployment, monitoring) instead of patching visible UI symptoms.

Deliver in focused increments – break work into small, well-scoped tasks, recognize scope creep early, and ship small, reviewable pull requests rather than oversized or over-engineered changes.

Collaborate and communicate effectively – work closely with the team on technical decisions, share context clearly, and keep user outcomes as the main measure of success.

Must-have:

• Commercial experience in back-end development with C#

• Strong SQL skills

• Solid programming fundamentals and experience with modern web development

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate root causes

• Ability to reason across the full application flow: frontend, APIs, data, integrations, testing, deployment, and monitoring

• Dependable delivery: breaking work into focused increments and delivering small, reviewable changes

• Preference for clear, maintainable solutions and effective communication over unnecessary complexity

• Fluent English, both written and spoken

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with AWS

• Knowledge of Redux or another state management library

• Experience with CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins, etc.)

• Experience with microfrontends
