For more, please visit our website: www.cranbrook.edu.\nThe Skilled HVAC Technician position is primarily responsible for the safe, comfortable, and economical operation of the Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (H.V.A.C.), and plumbing systems throughout Cranbrook Educational Community and for the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nMaintains boilers and related equipment.\nPrepares all boilers for summer inspection and accompanies an inspector on her/his rounds.\nMaintains plumbing for heating and cooling related equipment, including that associated with the hot water system, campus fountains, and the water wheel.\nMaintains ventilation and air conditioning systems.\nMaintains and repairs irrigation system (including water lines) controls back flow prevention equipment.\nPerforms routine safety checks on all H.V.A.C. and plumbing equipment; repairs or replaces as necessary.\nPerforms miscellaneous duties associated with H.V.A.C. and plumbing equipment; repairs or replaces as necessary.\nPerforms miscellaneous duties associated with H.V.A.C. or plumbing work.\nMaintain and monitor inventory records for H.V.A.C. shops.\nMaintains boiler and water treatment.\nResponsible for the knowledge of asbestos abatement procedures.\nMust be aware of proper procedures to use when encountering suspected asbestos containing material to avoid personal exposure, contamination of job site, and exposure of facility occupants to asbestos.\nInstalls and maintains DDC temperature control systems.\nRequirements:\nValid Michigan driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.\nMinimum two years’ experience in mechanical, plumbing, heating, or related technical area.\nMust possess or attain Low Pressure Boiler License within one year in the position.\nAbility to obtain Asbestos Abatement Certificate.\nMust possess CFC (Refrigerant) Reclaiming License.\nMichigan Mechanical Contractors License in applicable classification(s) preferred.\nThe following full-time position is currently available:Monday - Friday, 11am - 7:30 pm\n$29.05 base pay rate/ per hour\n$1.00/ per hour shift premium for working the second shift\n $1.00/ per hour license stipend for obtaining the Low-Pressure Boiler License (must possess within one year).\nTotal $31.05/ per hour\nNote: Additional compensation is available based on other licenses/certifications obtained.\nCranbrook offers competitive compensation and benefits that include medical, dental, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability, and retirement programs with employer match.
