This role provides hands-on exposure to financial reporting, market and product profitability analysis, data visualization, and enterprise performance management processes within a manufacturing environment.\nA key focus of this internship will be supporting three strategic initiatives: transitioning financial reporting from market analysis to product analysis, developing analytics for channel partner product sales by market and application, and assisting with the implementation of Value Stream and Product Line reporting within HFM. The intern will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to develop analytical insights that support business decision-making and continuous improvement.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nFinancial Reporting Transformation\nSupport the transition of management reporting from a market-based view to a product line, product family, and product profitability perspective. \nAssist with developing reporting structures, data mappings, and validation processes to support enhanced product profitability analysis. \nAnalyze sales, bookings, backlog, margins, and operating performance by new product segments and product lines. \nProduct, Channel, Market and Application Analytics\nAssist in developing analytical models and dashboards to evaluate channel partner sales performance by part, product, market, and application. \nSupport analysis of revenue trends, market penetration, profitability, product mix, and growth opportunities across distribution channels. \nCreate Power BI or Excel-based reports and visualizations to provide management insight into product sales performance and customer demand trends. \nPerform data extraction, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities from ERP and reporting systems. \nHFM Value Stream and Product Line Reporting\nAssist with implementation and testing of Value Stream and Product Line reporting structures within HFM. \nSupport development of reporting hierarchies, dimension mappings, and validation procedures. \nParticipate in user acceptance testing and report validation activities. \nHelp document reporting processes, data definitions, and business requirements. \nAssist with preparation of management reports utilizing the new reporting structures. \nMonth-End Close Support\nAssist Finance and Accounting teams with month-end reporting requirements. \nSupport account analysis and reconciliations as assigned. \nResearch and investigate reporting variances. \nPrepare schedules and supporting documentation for management review and audit requests. \nQUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES\nExperience/Training/Education:\nRequired: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or related field. Senior or Graduate student preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple assignments.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to present data in a clear and meaningful manner.\nCuriosity and willingness to learn financial planning and analysis processes.\nTeam-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.\nTechnical Skills:\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, lookups, and data analysis. \nFamiliarity with Power BI, or other business intelligence tools preferred. \nBasic understanding of financial statements and accounting concepts. \nExperience with data analysis and reporting tools preferred. \nKnowledge of QAD systems is a plus. \nStrong computer and analytical skills. \nLearning Opportunities:\nFinancial planning and forecasting processes. \nBudget development and variance analysis. \nPower BI dashboard development. \nSales, orders, backlog, and profitability analytics. \nManufacturing cost analysis. \nAbout Crane Co\nCrane Company (NYSE: CR) is a manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products.
