This is an on-site position.\nAbout Crane:\nCrane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. You’ll find Crane Aerospace & Electronics in some of the toughest environments: from engines to landing gear; from satellites to medical implants and from missiles to unmanned aerial systems (UAS).\nAs an IT Systems Engineer (Compute) you will design, develop, support, and maintain our compute infrastructure both on-prem and in the cloud. You will implement and design both hardware and software solutions; make updates to system related installation documentation, and provide escalated support for issues relating to the compute infrastructure.\nEssential Functions:\nResponsible for the patching and management of data center and cloud technologies including VMware, Nutanix, Azure, and Oracle OCI\nEnsure uptime of critical business systems and infrastructure through monitoring and timely remediation of infrastructure issues\nDeploy and manage virtual machines both on-prem and in the cloud\nProvide troubleshooting and recommendations for improvements on existing and new systems\nPreserves data assets and ensures back-up procedures meet or exceed our policies\n Help to implement and provide support for disaster recovery of key systems\nAssist other teams with IT initiatives\nIdentifies issues, evaluates trends, and anticipates requirements\n Ensures adherence to all regulatory compliance processes and requirements, including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley, DFARS, ITAR and like regulations\nSupport the monitoring, alerting and automation infrastructure for critical business systems and infrastructure\nMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies\nProvides documentation and training to other team members and IT teams\nAny other task assigned by supervisor or management\nMinimum Qualifications:\nExperience:\nLevel II: 2-4+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in a medium to high volume environment.\nLevel III: 4-7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in a medium to high volume environment.\nExperience in managing and maintaining hypervisor technologies including\nNutanix and VMware; Experience in managing and maintaining backup appliances, storage arrays, and server blade systems; Experience deploying and automating virtual machines both on-prem and in cloud infrastructure\nKnowledge:\nUnderstanding of current cloud and on-prem compute technologies, hypervisors, networking, storage, and backups\nProficient in supporting and maintaining compute environments to meet best practices\nSkills/Abilities:\nStrong problem solving; Ability to complete job requirements within time constraints\nAbility to train new employees to support systems as required; Ability to work effectively in an individual or team environment with occasional direction\nEducation/Certification:\nBS degree in computer-oriented technical discipline or equivalent experience\nEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
