This position requires strong analytical skills and effective cross-departmental collaboration.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nDaily/Weekly Responsibilities\nOversee RPA-generated labor hours uploads into QAD.\nReview and approve Product Change Requests (PCRs/PCOs).\nMonitor item master records, update material cost for new parts.\nManage sales channel setup for new product lines.\nWeekly analysis of Material Variances.\nMonthly Responsibilities\nFinancial Close and Reporting\nManage the month-end close process for cost accounting.\nPrepare and post journal entries related to inventory, cost of sales, reserves, and manufacturing activities.\nPerform balance sheet reconciliations for inventory and related accounts.\nAnalyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, overhead, and purchase price variances.\nInventory Management and Analysis\nReview cycle count adjustments and ensure discrepancies are properly investigated and resolved.\nReview Work-in-Process (WIP) balances and resolve outstanding issues.\nReview monthly inventory adjustment tracking generated by Materials Manager.\nMonitor and assess financial risk related to inventory located in QA hold, Return-to-Vendor (RTV) and other holding locations.\nPerform inventory turn analysis by product line.\nQuarterly perform Lower of Cost or Net Realizable Value inventory analysis\nReserve and Risk Analysis\nLead Excess & Obsolete inventory review meetings with Product Managers.\nMonthly track the inventory items with highest E&O values (e.g. top 25%) and recommend actions to mitigate the risk.\nIdentify inventory items at risk of becoming excess or obsolete and provide a rolling forecast for the next six months and beyond.\nOperational and Labor Analysis\nUpload temporary labor hours for month-end close.\nPrepare and distribute overtime dashboard reporting.\nPerform direct labor efficiency analysis.\nPrepare and distribute forecast accuracy reporting.\nUpdate finished goods costs based on current tariff guidance and cost assumptions.\nAnnual Responsibilities\nLead the annual standard cost roll process.\nAssist with annual financial statement audits and audit requests.\nCoordinate finance activities related to the annual physical inventory.\nPartner with Quality to review customer warranty agreements and associated financial impacts.\nCoordinate with Supply Chain to reconcile consignment inventory balances between supplier records and ERP data.\nCollaborate with Operations on manufacturing time studies.\nSupport annual budgeting and forecasting activities related to manufacturing costs and inventory.\nContinuous Improvement and Special Projects\nPartner with IT to enhance reporting, automation, and data analytics capabilities.\nDevelop and maintain accounting procedures, work instructions, and process documentation.\nPartner with the VP of Operations to identify opportunities to improve productivity\nParticipate in cross-functional projects and perform ad hoc financial analyses as needed.\nExperience and Qualifications Needed:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field CPA or CMA preferred).\nExperience: Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or production environment.\nSkills:Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.\nAdvanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\n\nKnowledge:In-depth understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.\nFamiliarity with cycle counting and physical inventory processes.\n\nCommunication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations.\nAbout Crane Co\nCrane Company (NYSE: CR) is a manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products.
