Primarily focused on preparing raw materials, ensuring components are accurately cut and cleaned for fabrication of vacuum jacketed piping and components in accordance with drawings and blueprints.\nThis position performs a full range of job functions and uses independent judgement in making decisions where alternatives are determined by established procedures, methods, and practices. machines, conveyors, and conveyances.\nOperate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.\nPlace products in equipment or on work surfaces for further processing, inspecting, or wrapping.\nExamine products to verify conformance to quality standards.\nStart machines or equipment to begin production processes.\nObserve equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify operators of any malfunctions.\nRemove products, machine attachments, or waste material from machines.\nLift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.\nTransfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.\nPack and store materials and products.\nHelp Operators, Welders and other co-workers with supplying or holding materials or tools, or cleaning work areas and equipment.\nCount finished products to determine if product orders are complete.\nMeasure amounts of products, lengths of extruded articles, or weights of filled containers to ensure conformance to specifications.\nAnalyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.\nResponsibilities/Duties:\nCommunicate with supervisors, peers, or subordinates.\nRepair and maintain mechanical equipment and tools and replace worn equipment components.\nOperate safety equipment and use safe work habits.\nLay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, Levels, tape measures, calipers, and rulers.\nExamine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.\nClamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.\nDetermine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.\nOperate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, plasma arc.\nMark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.\nClean production equipment.\nClean work areas.\nClean workpieces or finished products.\nInstall mechanical components in production equipment.\nMix substances to create chemical solutions.\nMount attachments, tools, materials, or workpieces onto production equipment.\nRecord operational or production data.\nAdjust equipment controls to regulate gas flow.\nDrill holes in parts, equipment, or materials.\nMonitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed.\nSmooth metal surfaces or edges.\nTrim excess material from workpieces.\nEducation, Work Experience, Skill Requirements & Certifications:\nMinimum Education (or substitute experience) required:\nHigh School Graduate or GED equivalent/Some college preferred.\nMinimum Experience Required:\nMinimum 2+ years of relevant Warehouse or Production experience. \nForklift experience is a plus.\nMinimum 1 year welding and fabrication experience.\nExperience using a variety of welding equipment and proper operating procedures (TIG, MMA, plasma torch etc.).\nExperience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, grinders, squares, calipers etc.).\nAbility to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.\nKnowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).\nSkills Required:\nAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment.\nMust have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented. \nAbility to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritize work and handle last minute demands appropriately. \nProven success with working in a team environment.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without constant supervision.\nGood communication, written and grammatical skills. \nCustomer service oriented.\nPhysically able to push/pull/lift/carry supplies and various works in progress of at least 50 pounds.\nPhysically able to bend/kneel/walk/stand, in tandem with cart, step stools or rolling ladders, to access supplies and various works in progress or other materials as needed in storage rooms or production areas.\nAble to work on foot for extended periods of time\nAbility to determine the type of tools and equipment needed to complete a job.\nAbility to repair machines or systems using the needed tools.\nSpecial Requirement:\nMay be required to work weekends and holidays as business necessitates; schedules will be determined by management with at least 48 hours advance notice.\nWork Environment:\nWorking in the shop, the following conditions may apply:\nIncludes exposure to sounds and noise
