This role serves as the site's subject matter expert and strategic leader for EHS, driving a proactive safety culture while ensuring compliance with international, national and local regulations. This is a people leader role with a small team of direct reports. The successful candidate will partner closely with plant leadership and employees to reduce risk, prevent injuries, strengthen environmental stewardship, and support operational excellence. This highly visible role requires hands-on leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, effective employee engagement, and the ability to lead incident investigations, regulatory interactions, audits, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):\nDevelop and execute site EHS strategy aligned with business objectives and Crane Company standards.\nLead initiatives that foster a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, observations, training, and continuous improvement.\nServe as a trusted advisor to site leadership on EHS risks, compliance obligations, and best practices.\nEnsure compliance with applicable waste management regulations.\nServe as the primary point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, investigations, and agency inquiries.\nMaintain all required permits, reporting obligations, environmental records, and compliance documentation.\nMonitor regulatory developments and implement changes necessary to maintain compliance.\nLead investigations involving injuries, environmental incidents, near misses, property damage, and regulatory findings.\nConduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.\nPerform risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, job hazard analyses, and exposure assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.\nDevelop and deliver EHS training programs for all levels of the organization.\nMaintain emergency response, evacuation, spill response, and business continuity programs.\nCoordinate emergency drills and serve as a lead resource during crisis events.\nEstablish and monitor EHS metrics including TRIR, DART, near miss reporting, safety observations, corrective action closure rates, and environmental performance indicators.\nLead environmental and safety audits and support third party certification audits, including ISO 14001 and 45001\nPrepare monthly EHS reports and recommend improvement initiatives and capital investments to reduce risk and improve performance.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Public Health, or a related field and/or NEBOSH Diploma.\nMinimum 5 years of progressive EHS experience, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.\nMinimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role.\nDemonstrated experience managing environmental compliance programs, occupational safety programs, regulatory audits, and permitting requirements.\nExperience leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.\nStrong knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, environmental permits, and emergency preparedness requirements.\nProven ability to build a strong safety culture and improve safety performance through employee engagement, behavioural safety initiatives, coaching, and continuous improvement programs.\nExperience supporting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.\nStrong project management, communication, and presentation skills.\nProfessional certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, CIEH, HSEPB or equivalent are strongly preferred.\nExperience in the Aerospace industry, supporting AS9100 preferred.\nExperience interacting directly with regulatory agencies and managing consultants preferred.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3991,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Aerospace Manufacturing","Industrial Machinery"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-11-05T09:06:00Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"adverts_offering_sponsorship_24m":0,"sanctioned_now":false,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Skilled Worker, Senior or Specialist Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Skilled Worker;
