This requires hands on involvement and working on the shop floor. In addition to this support, they will be responsible for design and implementation of tooling and/or process changes to improve manufacturing processes. They will also own larger cost reduction projects from ideation, feasibility and design, Capital Expenditure approval, and implementation.\nPrinciple Duties (includes, but is not limited to):\nProvides support to obtain safe, efficient, productive and economical manufacturing operations.\n\nDevelops and maintains routings, tool lists, fixtures, process instructions and process requirements, for manufacturing equipment and operations.\n\nDevelops Work instructions and standard work to document processes and flow.\n\nDrives out waste from manufacturing operations through the deployment of lean and CBS methodology.\n\nAddresses production Andon stoppages and develops counter measures using 5 why methodology.\n\nTrains operators on proper, efficient manufacturing methods and procedures, to maximize machine and process productivity.\n\nCoordinates the purchase of necessary production materials and tooling.\n\nImplements changes to tools and fixtures.\n\nSupports new process and product development implementation.\n\nAssists with developing and implementing current and future state value stream maps and continuous Improvement plans.\n\nAudits and improves existing manufacturing processes.\n\nSolves daily manufacturing process problems.\n\nTries out experimental commercial tooling.\n\nSimplifies the methods/tooling and therefore reduces cycle times and W.I.P.\n\nImproves area equipment layouts and material flow.\n\nAssists operators with daily assembly problems with equipment, methods and tooling.\n\nAssists in justifying and coordinating the installation of capital equipment.\n\nParticipates actively in the Continuous Improvement and Quality processes including project team involvement and problem solving.\n\nEssential Qualifications / Experience:\nIn process of obtaining B.S. in Engineering or related degree.\n\nProblem solving and root cause analysis skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications/Experience\nExposure to lean manufacturing, six sigma, and 5S practices.\n\nProficient with data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.\n\nDemonstrated ability to understand process & product specifications.\n\nBasic understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.\n\nEOE/Women/Minorities/Veterans/Disabled\nThis description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
