In addition, the role also involves driving quality improvements throughout the business processes, working closely with the Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Sales departments to optimize business performance and Customer satisfaction, maintaining ISO9001: 2015 certification, and driving the use of IATF Core Tools.\nThe successful candidate will be required to travel extensively and must have a full UK driving licence.\nResponsibilities\nSupport on NPI and productivity initiatives:\nParticipation in NPD & Productivity Meetings as Quality Representative in support of product realization.\nSupporting in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.\nProject management - delivery within programme timings\nUsing IATF 16949 Core Tools across the supply baseTo support Technical and Operations: Ensure that the “Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is carried out thoroughly to ensure that operational processes are capable and compatible with the design intent of new product.\n\nUnderstanding of data analytics (6σ or similar)\nProduct validation and sign-off.\n\nManagement of non-conformities:\nSupplier control, RCA and CAPA - Key (Top 10 worst performing) suppliers only, using the SDR/NCR process and using problems solving tools such as 8D, 5 Whys\nProblem response and subsequent resolution, including cost recovery - supplier focused.\nSupplier Management and Development:\nCreate and Maintain Supplier Development Metrics\nCarry out QA005 and QA005L audits on potential suppliers\nCarry out supplier assessments / audits against target companies identified in conjunction with Supply Chain.\nFully support Supply Chain with new supplier selection, qualification and on-going monitoring.\nCreate and Maintain audit plan of existing supplier base\nCarry out supplier product/process audit against target suppliers as agreed by quality and supply chain.\nProduct and Process Audits - supplier focused.\n\nDeveloping a quality culture within the supply chain.\nReporting\nSupport with maintaining and monitoring the Key Performance Indicators (including the monthly Business Review Slides) for the Quality Department.\nQualifications/Experience/Training:\nHNC Metallurgy / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.\nExtensive understanding and experience in IATF 16949 Core Tools.Advanced Product Quality Planning and tools such as process mapping, Design and Process FMEA, and producing process control plans and standard operating procedures\n\nQualified Lead Auditor.\nPrior experience in working with NPI process\nEngineering background\nSix Sigma trained to Black-Belt level\nExperience in applying a structured approach to problem solving (8D), and the use of quality tools to identify root causes and effective CAPA.\nAbility to communicate with all levels of personnel, both in-works and with customers and suppliers.\nExperience in the application of statistical techniques, carrying out machine and process capability studies and introducing S.P.C.\nAbility to use appropriate measuring and test equipment.\nAbility to read engineering drawings.\nAn understanding of material specifications.\nFully conversant with Microsoft Office.\nAn understanding of ISO 9001 (and preferably 14001 and 18001)\nGood written and oral communication skills.\nFamiliar with ‘Lean Manufacturing’, value stream mapping and the 7 wastes.\nExperience of 5S principles and methodologies.\nPersonal Characteristics:\nPrepared to travel extensively\nA professional manner when dealing with internal and external contacts\nProven ability to work to tight deadlines and strong levels of attention to detail\nA ‘can-do’ positive attitude at all times.\nGood levels of resilience and able to respond well under pressure.\nAttention to detail and ability to work on own initiative.\nGood written and oral communication skills.\nExcellent time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize workload\nInitiative, drive and enthusiasm.\nHave a flexible approach to work, good team skills and the ability to influence to get results\nMaintain strong and effective liaison with customers, suppliers, work colleagues (UK QA and Supply Chain), contractors, etc.\nABOUT US\nCrane Building Services and Utilities (BS&U) is part of the Fluid Handling Division of Crane Co. founded in 1855, which is a global, multi-industry, New York Stock Exchange quoted company.
