Lead and coach production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery, customer, and profitability objectives while improving manufacturing processes and production cells.\nPrinciple Responsibilities:\nValue Stream Supervision\nBuild and communicate daily shop-floor schedules, job sequences, and employee assignments; review material, equipment, and labor availability before releasing work.\nMonitor welding, machining, processing, and assembly throughout each shift; verify work follows approved drawings, welding procedures, inspection requirements, and safety practices.\nReview daily schedule attainment, output, quality, and work-in-process using visual management; address missed targets and assign recovery actions.\nCompare actual production with daily and monthly schedules; identify causes of delays, assign corrective actions, and follow up through completion.\nConfirm equipment readiness each day; coordinate maintenance and downtime with the production schedule and verify equipment is safely operated.\nTranslate monthly production requirements into weekly and daily schedules; review capacity, staffing, materials, and planned downtime with the Value Stream Manager, supply chain, and Engineering, and flag gaps before they affect delivery.\nCoach employees on daily assignments, standard work, and schedule expectations; coordinate cross-training to close skill gaps and support planned monthly workloads.\nReassign available labor, adjust job sequencing, and resolve shop-floor interruptions within delegated authority; escalate issues requiring Engineering, Quality, or Value Stream Manager approval.\nCommunicate daily progress, schedule changes, and delivery risks to production teams and supporting functions; review monthly schedule status and recovery priorities with the Value Stream Manager.\nCoordinate shop-floor activities for equipment installations, capacity changes, technology transfers, and production readiness projects; incorporate planned disruptions into monthly schedules and daily work assignments.\nProvide on-call oversight of production operations on occasional weekends, as required.\nManufacturing Quality & Process Improvement\nPartner with R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing Sciences, Engineering, and Manufacturing to deliver reproducible products and scalable, cost-effective processes.\nWork with input from cross-functional teams to map all processes, including inspection, outsourced processes, and incoming components for a product line.\nWork with input from cross-functional teams to develop and maintain Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) throughout each product’s lifecycle.\nLeverage the PFMEA tool to address risks affecting product/process safety, function, fit, durability, or manufacturability.\nCollaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to establish production schedules and distribution strategies.\nDevelop and execute validation plans for performance and reliability; establish test protocols with Quality, analyze deviations, implement corrective actions, and document procedures and results for compliance and reporting.\nQualifications/Experience:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Production Management or related field\nUnimpeachable ethics.\nThree to five years of prior experience in similar or closely related job along with proven leadership ability.\nAdvanced body of knowledge of Lean techniques with track record of implementation.\nMust have thorough knowledge of production scheduling and enterprise MRP systems.\nStrong leadership, sound decision-making, and professional oral and written communication across organizational levels and external contacts.\nOrganized and self-motivated; able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing situations.\nRelentless about continuous improvement\nThorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, equipment, product construction, and application; able to interpret drawings and specifications.\nWill be computer literate, particularly in shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications.\nEOE/Women/Minorities/Veterans/Disabled\nThis description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
