In this role, you’ll help shape intuitive, effective experiences for customers using CrashPlan’s data protection and backup solutions.\nYou’ll partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs, simplify complex workflows, and translate product requirements into thoughtful, user-centered experiences. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable owning the design process from discovery and concept development through detailed design and implementation.\nDay in the Life: \nOwn UX design for key product areas and features, from early concepts through final implementation.\nPartner with Product Managers and Engineers to define problems, explore solutions, and deliver experiences that balance customer needs, business priorities, and technical considerations.\nTranslate complex workflows and technical concepts into clear, intuitive user experiences.\nCreate user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to communicate and validate solutions.\nConduct and incorporate user research, usability testing, customer feedback, and product data into design decisions.\nHelp establish and maintain consistent design patterns and experiences across the product.\nCollaborate closely with Engineering throughout development to ensure the intended experience is carried through to the final product.\nIdentify opportunities to improve existing experiences, not just design new features.\nClearly communicate design rationale and recommendations to stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and the broader organization.\nContribute to the continued evolution of UX practices, standards, and processes within the organization.\nWho You Are:\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n6+ years of experience in UX, product design, or a related discipline, ideally designing B2B SaaS or other complex software products.\nA strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work, including complex workflows and problem solving-not just visual design.\nStrong experience with interaction design, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, and usability principles.\nExperience conducting or participating in user research and usability testing and translating insights into product improvements.\nAbility to simplify complex technical concepts and workflows for users.\nStrong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma.\nExperience partnering closely with Product Managers and software engineers in an Agile product development environment.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain and advocate for design decisions.\nComfortable working with globally distributed teams and collaborating across time zones.\nAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of design work with limited direction.\n Preferred Qualifications:\nExperience designing enterprise software, cybersecurity, data protection, backup/recovery, IT administration, or other technically complex products.\nExperience designing products used by IT administrators or other technical users.\nExperience working with or contributing to a design system.\nFamiliarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.\nExperience working within a global SaaS organization.\nWhat Success Looks Like:\nYou’ll be successful in this role if you can quickly understand our customers and technology, bring clarity to complex product problems, and work effectively across Product and Engineering to create experiences that are both highly usable and technically achievable.\nCrashPlan values workplace diversity and ensuring an environment of mutual respect.
