In this role, you’ll build responsive, intuitive, and high-performing user interfaces for customers using CrashPlan’s data protection and backup solutions.\nYou’ll partner closely with Product Management, UX Design, Engineering, and QA to turn product requirements and design mockups into polished, reliable, and accessible web experiences. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable owning front-end development from technical design and implementation through testing, release, and ongoing improvement.\nDay In The Life:\nOwn front-end development for key product areas and features, from technical design through production release.\nBuild and maintain responsive, cross-browser user interfaces using AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.\nTranslate UX designs, wireframes, and prototypes into pixel-accurate, accessible, and reusable UI components.\nDevelop and consume RESTful APIs and back-end services using Node.js to support UI features and data integration.\nPartner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers to define requirements, estimate work, and deliver solutions that balance customer needs and technical considerations.\nOptimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability, and troubleshoot and resolve UI defects.\nWrite clean, well-documented, and testable code, and participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies.\nHelp establish and maintain consistent UI patterns, shared components, and front-end standards across the product.\nWrite unit and end-to-end tests and work with QA to ensure high-quality releases.\nIdentify opportunities to modernize and improve existing front-end code and user experiences, not just build new features.\nContribute to the continued evolution of engineering practices, standards, and processes within the organization.\nWho You Are:\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n6+ years of experience in front-end or UI development, ideally building B2B SaaS or other complex enterprise web applications.\nStrong hands-on experience with AngularJS (1.x), including directives, services, components, routing, and two-way data binding.\nSolid experience with Node.js for building APIs, services, and tooling, including working with Express or similar frameworks.\nExpert knowledge of semantic HTML5, CSS3 (including Flexbox/Grid and responsive design), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).\nExperience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data flows.\nExperience building cross-browser compatible, responsive, and accessible interfaces from design specifications such as Figma.\nProficiency with version control (Git), package managers (npm), and build tools such as Webpack, Gulp, or Grunt.\nExperience with unit and end-to-end testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, Jest, or Protractor.\nExperience working in an Agile product development environment with Product Managers, designers, and QA.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain and advocate for technical decisions.\nComfortable working with globally distributed teams and collaborating across time zones.\nAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of work with limited direction.\n Preferred Qualifications:\nExperience building enterprise software, cybersecurity, data protection, backup/recovery, IT administration, or other technically complex products.\nExperience developing interfaces used by IT administrators or other technical users.\nExperience with modern frameworks such as Angular (2+), React, or TypeScript, and with migrating AngularJS applications.\nExperience working with or contributing to a design system or shared component library.\nFamiliarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and front-end performance optimization.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms such as AWS.\nExperience working within a global SaaS organization.\nWhat Success Looks Like:\nYou’ll be successful in this role if you can quickly understand our customers and technology, deliver clean and maintainable front-end code, and work effectively across Product, UX, and Engineering to build experiences that are both highly usable and technically robust.\nCrashPlan values workplace diversity and ensuring an environment of mutual respect.
