The individual possesses demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks, coordinate with internal and external parties, establish priorities and direct the work of others. Typical tasks and deliverables that are executed by or under the supervision of the Senior Lead include site selection, master planning, commissioning and startup, load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, P&IDs, schedules, HAZOP reviews, installation details, equipment and system selection and specification, and coordination with manufacturers and trade partners. Project work includes directing design activities for all levels of design such as studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration. The Senior Lead understands the development and field implementation of documents through all project phases, sizes and levels of complexity.\nThe Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing oversight for the discipline at a project, office and regional level. They oversee the Mechanical discipline scope of work and manages the discipline budget on all project phases, sizes and levels of complexity, and directs and manages the workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectations and project goals. The Senior Lead Engineer may work independently or at the direction of the Project Manager.\nResponsibilities\nDirects and manages the workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff (Entry-Level to Senior) to meet client expectations and project goals. \nCoordinates with internal and external parties, manages multiple complex tasks, establishes priorities and directs the work of others. \nWorks with a Project Manager on proposal development, design task identification, man-hour planning and project scheduling for the discipline scope of work on advanced level projects. \nIdentifies and resolves advanced non-compliant existing conditions during site walks and construction field surveys. \nAttends external seminars/conferences for professional development. \nDevelops advanced internal mechanical design and engineering training presentations. \nDevelops narratives, reports and construction drawing packages and writes construction specifications on advanced and complex projects without oversight. \nProvides lead and advanced support of construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development and construction progress reports. \nConducts technical and leadership interviews. \nConducts quality checking of documents for advanced complex projects (e.g., technical verification of design calculations and documentation) and drives overall project quality. \nProvides mentorship to less experienced Mechanical Engineers and/or Designers. \nLeads advanced project system design programming and master planning with minimal or no support from Senior Engineer. \nLeads a team of mechanical staff in the execution of advanced projects discipline design and engineering. \nProvides oversight and technical leadership to other offices and related functions such as Business Development, Technical Advancement and Vertical Markets. \nProvides industry-level perspective and guidance to frame business strategy in the face of evolving technology or client buying behavior. \n ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (with a mechanical focus) \nMinimum of 15 years of experience for Senior Lead position \nProfessional Engineer registration in good standing \nExpert experience with performing engineering calculations, and developing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility and piping systems designs \nProficiency in Microsoft Office suite \nAdvanced experience with using and applying the mechanical/plumbing/fire/building codes \nAdvanced experience using and applying applicable industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, OSHA, etc.) \nAdvanced experience conducting and leading field surveys of existing conditions and support of field reporting \nPreferred Qualifications\nProficiency in Revit \nLife Sciences (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Laboratory) or Food & Beverage industry experience \nAdvanced knowledge of cGMPs and/or experience with advanced technology industry projects such as R&D labs, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and/or consumer products \nLEED, WELL or other sustainable design accredited professional or, experience with sustainable design \nProficient with advanced internal and external cross-discipline project team coordination \nProficient with advanced coordination with construction trade partners, vendors and manufacturers \nAdvanced experience with troubleshooting issues with mechanical systems\n All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nCRB is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
