Utilizes underwriting judgment and company guidelines to assess risk, develop terms, and negotiate conditions that align with business objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nFollowing is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Specific activities may change from time to time.\nAnalyze risk factors and determine appropriate pricing and coverage within delegated authority. \nReview applications, financial statements, inspection reports, and other relevant documents to assess exposure. \nApply underwriting guidelines, line of business strategies, and risk appetite frameworks to support sound decision-making. \nNegotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers or clients to secure profitable business. \nCollaborate with internal teams such as claims, actuarial, and finance to resolve coverage or policy issues. \nMaintain accurate documentation for all underwriting decisions and ensure compliance with company policies. \nMonitor portfolio performance and identify trends to recommend corrective action when necessary. \nParticipate in training and development initiatives to maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, regulations, and market trends.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nBachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business administration, or related field required. \nMinimum of 2 to 4 years of underwriting or relevant insurance experience. \nDemonstrated applied knowledge of underwriting principles, guidelines, and practices. \nExperience in a collaborative, broker-focused service environment.\nCERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS\nProgress toward professional designations such as CPCU or AU is preferred. \nValid insurance license may be required in some jurisdictions.\nFUNCTIONAL SKILLS\nProficiency in risk analysis and exposure evaluation. \nAbility to interpret financial statements and industry-specific data. \nStrong negotiation and relationship-management skills. \nEffective oral and written communication skills. \nProficiency with underwriting systems and Microsoft Office applications. \nDetail orientation with ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. \nSound judgment and decision-making within defined authority.\nThe annual base salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000.\nGeneral Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of CRC Group: At CRC Group, we're committed to supporting every aspect of teammates' well-being - physical, emotional, financial, social, and professional.
