We encourage all employees to expand beyond their boundaries, dive into important world-changing Federal challenges.\nPosition Summary\nCredence has an immediate need for a Junior SAP SME to support a mission-critical project focused on the development, modernization, integration, testing, and sustainment of SAP S/4HANA interfaces within a complex enterprise business systems environment.\nThe Junior SAP SME will collaborate with SAP developers, integration engineers, functional analysts, solution architects, and government stakeholders to support the design and implementation of SAP solutions. This role will assist with documenting technical requirements, troubleshooting interface and integration issues, validating system functionality, and promoting SAP code through controlled development, testing, and production environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in SAP technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nSupport the development, enhancement, and maintenance of SAP ABAP programs within an SAP S/4HANA environment.\nAssist with the design and modernization of interfaces between SAP and external enterprise systems.\nDevelop or support integrations using:\n SAP OData services\nREST and SOAP APIs\nBusiness Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs)\nRemote Function Calls (RFCs)\nIntermediate Documents (IDocs), where applicable\nAnalyze existing SAP interfaces and assist in identifying modernization, automation, and performance-improvement opportunities.\nWork with senior consultants and solution architects to develop SAP-based technical solutions.\nPrepare and maintain technical specifications, interface design documents, data mappings, test scripts, deployment instructions, and operational support documentation.\nAssist with unit, integration, regression, and interface testing.\nAnalyze and troubleshoot interface failures, data-processing errors, ABAP issues, and system integration problems.\nSupport data mapping, validation, transformation, and reconciliation between SAP and external systems.\nFollow established SAP development standards, naming conventions, security requirements, and configuration-management procedures.\nSupport the controlled promotion of SAP code and configuration through development, test, quality-assurance, staging, and production environments.\nCreate and manage SAP transport requests in accordance with established change-management and release-management processes.\nParticipate in code reviews, design reviews, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and technical working sessions.\nCoordinate with functional teams to translate business and interface requirements into technical specifications.\nSupport production deployments, defect resolution, and post-deployment validation.\nMaintain traceability between requirements, technical designs, code changes, test results, and releases.\nProvide regular status updates and promptly communicate technical risks, dependencies, and implementation issues.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.\nApproximately one to three years of SAP development, integration, internship, academic, or related technical experience.\nFoundational knowledge of SAP ABAP development.\nFamiliarity with SAP S/4HANA architecture and development concepts.\nUnderstanding of SAP integration technologies, including OData, APIs, BAPIs, and RFCs.\nBasic understanding of REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, and enterprise integration patterns.\nAbility to prepare clear technical specifications and other system-development documentation.\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle, testing, configuration management, and release-management practices.\nAbility to work within structured code-promotion and change-control processes.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.\nAbility to work effectively with technical and functional team members in a collaborative environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with or exposure to SAP IDocs, CDS views, ABAP Objects, SAP Fiori, SAP Gateway, or SAP Business Technology Platform.\nFamiliarity with SAP interface monitoring, error handling, batch processing, and job scheduling.\nExperience supporting SAP modernization or migration initiatives.\nExposure to middleware, API-management, or enterprise integration platforms.\nFamiliarity with Agile or Scrum delivery methods and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.\nExperience working in a federal government, Department of Defense, or other regulated environment.\nUnderstanding of formal change control, separation of duties, cybersecurity, and audit-documentation requirements.\nFamiliarity with SAP Solution Manager or comparable application lifecycle-management tools.\nCore Competencies\nSAP ABAP development\nSAP S/4HANA\nSAP and EBS interface integration\nOData, APIs, BAPIs, RFCs, and IDocs\nTechnical documentation\nInterface testing and troubleshooting\nSAP transports and code promotion\nConfiguration and change management\nRequirements traceability\nEnterprise system modernization\nSecurity Requirements\nCandidate should be a US Citizen with secret clearance.
