The CTO will be responsible for building and maintaining secure, resilient, and high-performing systems that power CredPal’s credit, payments, investments, and financial services ecosystem. As a core member of CredPal’s executive leadership team, the CTO will work closely with Product & Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Business leaders to translate strategic objectives into scalable technical solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on technology leader with deep fintech experience, strong people leadership, and a passion for building impactful financial infrastructure in emerging markets.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnology Strategy & Platform Architecture\nDefine and execute CredPal’s long-term technology vision in alignment with business growth and product strategy.\n\nArchitect scalable, secure, and high-availability systems supporting credit origination, payments, investments, savings, and bill payments.\n\nLead decisions on infrastructure, cloud services, tooling, and emerging technologies to support rapid scale.\n\nEngineering Leadership & Execution\nBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering organization across backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, data, and quality assurance.\n\nPartner closely with Product leadership to deliver CredPal’s product roadmap efficiently and at high quality.\n\nEstablish engineering standards, best practices, documentation, and performance benchmarks.\n\nScalability, Reliability & Performance\nEnsure platform reliability, uptime, and performance across all customer-facing and internal systems.\n\nDrive adoption of DevOps, CI/CD, and automation to enable fast, safe, and frequent releases.\n\nLead incident management, system monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nSecurity, Risk & Regulatory Compliance\nOwn CredPal’s technology security posture, data protection, and infrastructure resilience.\n\nEnsure compliance with relevant fintech regulations, data protection laws (NDPR), and industry standards.\n\nCollaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to embed risk controls and fraud prevention mechanisms into system design.\n\nData & Credit Enablement\nEnable reliable data infrastructure to support credit scoring, risk assessment, and data-driven decision-making.\n\nEnsure data accuracy, availability, and scalability across product, risk, and business functions.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Commercial teams to align technology execution with market and customer needs.\n\nCommunicate complex technical concepts clearly to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nInnovation & Continuous Improvement\nStay ahead of fintech, credit, and payments technology trends relevant to Nigeria and other developing markets.\n\nBalance innovation with system stability, regulatory requirements, and customer trust.\n\nContinuously improve engineering processes using agile methodologies and modern development practices.\n\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
