The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring strong internal controls, optimizing operational processes, and supporting aggressive business growth while maintaining regulatory compliance.\nThis role requires a commercially minded leader who can balance growth, profitability, and risk management in a fast-paced microfinance environment.\nResponsibilities\nFinancial Strategy & Management\nLead the development and execution of the bank’s financial strategy in line with business objectives.\n\nOversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.\n\nDrive profitability through effective cost management and revenue optimization.\n\nMonitor financial performance and provide actionable insights to management.\n\nEnsure the bank consistently maintains all regulatory prudential ratios in line with microfinance banking requirements.\n\nAccounting, Reporting & Returns Filing\nOversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.\n\nEnsure timely filing of statutory and regulatory returns (CBN returns, NDIC, tax filings, etc.).\n\nMaintain full compliance with IFRS standards and financial reporting requirements.\n\nLiaise with external auditors, regulators, and tax authorities. \n\nOperations Management\nOversee daily banking operations including cash management, branch operations, and transaction processing.\n\nDrive operational efficiency and process optimization across all units.\n\nImplement and monitor SOPs and internal control frameworks.\n\nEnsure operational readiness, uptime, and business continuity.\n\nRisk Management & Compliance\nEstablish and enforce strong internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.\n\nEnsure full compliance with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and microfinance guidelines.\n\nOversee credit risk processes and portfolio quality in collaboration with business teams.\n\nMonitor fraud risks and implement preventive measures.\n\nTreasury & Liquidity Management\nManage liquidity, cash flow, and funding requirements of the bank.\n\nOptimize asset-liability management to ensure financial stability.\n\nOversee investment activities and fund allocation strategies.\n\nLeadership & Team Management\nLead, mentor, and develop the finance and operations teams.\n\nDrive a high-performance culture with clear KPIs and accountability.\n\nEnsure continuous training and capability development across teams.\n\nProcess Improvement & Systems\nDrive automation and digital transformation across finance and operations.\n\nEnsure effective use of core banking systems and financial tools.\n\nContinuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.\n\nKey Performance NPL)\n\nCompliance & Audit Outcomes\n\nProcess Turnaround Time\n\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.\n\nACA / ACCA certification is required.\n\nMCIB certification is an added advantage.\n\nMinimum of 5years experience strictly within a Microfinance Bank (MFB) with at least 3years in a senior leadership role overseeing finance and/or operations.\n\nStrong knowledge of microfinance banking operations and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.\n\nProven experience in financial planning, treasury management, and operational leadership.\n\nStrong understanding of risk management, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.\n\nExcellent analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.\n\nMust reside in Kano State,
