Through disciplined and accretive investments, we have successfully tripled the size of our company since going public in December 2021 while maintaininga strong balance sheet.\nWe are seeking an Automation Engineer to support the design and implementation of automation and electrical systems for upstream oil and gas facilities. This role will focus on PLC programming, Cause & Effect (C&E) development, control panel design, and automation/electrical design for field facilities such as well pads, tank batteries, SWDs, and compressor stations. This new position will be responsible for but not limited to the following:\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop, program, and maintain PLC control systems for upstream production facilities.\nProduce comprehensive Cause & Effect (C&E) matrices, implementing control logic based on P&IDs and control narratives.\nDesign and specify control panels, including PLC panels, I/O panels, and communication panels.\nPrepare detailed automation and electrical design documentation, such as I/O lists, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.\nSupport facility engineering efforts, including site layout, cable routing, and automation infrastructure planning.\nProvide commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup support for new and existing facilities.\nCollaborate closely with engineering, operations, and field personnel to ensure robust and reliable automation solutions.\nPreferred:\nExperience working with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, IDEC, and ABB PLC platforms.\nFamiliarity with Fisher ROC units and Totalflow flow computers.\nStrong knowledge of the various I&E devices commonly used in upstream oil and gas operations.\nExperience with SCADA systems deployed in upstream environments.\nEDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience will be considered.\nMinimum of 3 years of automation experience in upstream oil & gas facilities.\nProven ability in PLC programming and industrial control system development.\nWorking knowledge of instrumentation, electrical design, and control panel layouts.\nAbility to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control system documentation.\nWORKING CONDITIONS:\nWork is performed in both office settings and field environments, including industrial facilities and outdoor locations.\nExposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and industrial work sites may be required.\nMay be required to work near heavy machinery, electrical equipment, and automated control systems.\nPeriodic visits to remote field sites for project assessments and facility planning.\nStandard work hours apply, but flexibility may be needed based on project demands or emergencies.\nCollaboration with multiple teams and departments, requiring adaptability to changing priorities.\nSafety precautions must be adhered to at all times to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nAbility to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout facility sites, including outdoor and industrial environments.\nMust be able to work in environments with elevated noise levels and varying temperatures.\nAbility to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.\nOccasional travel to field locations for site assessments, planning meetings, and project execution.\nMust be able to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed for job duties.\nCrescent Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
