Through disciplined and accretive investments, we have successfully tripled the size of our company since going public in December 2021 while maintaining a strong balance sheet.\nThe Geologist will be responsible for applying technical evaluations to the development and production of oil and gas reservoirs to obtain a high economic recovery for the company’s South Texas position. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support optimal asset development and operations, leveraging fundamental geoscience skills in petroleum systems, stratigraphy and basin studies. Directly responsible for data analysis covering the characterization of source rocks, migration, reservoir, seals and traps integrating knowledge of structural geology, sedimentology, geochemistry, petrophysics and geophysics.\nEssential Duties And Responsibilities\nMaintain asset characterizations of hydrocarbon volumes, subsurface controls and risks and integrated recovery expectations.\n\nGenerate optimal field development plans, including but not limited to, delineation of acreage, appraisal of multiple landing targets, and the economic justification for proper well spacing.\n\nWork with Development team on recommendations for data acquisition, leasing and drilling projects.\n\nSupport the Operations Geologist with well planning, the pre-spud process and drilling and completions activity.\n\nWork closely with completions and operations engineers to design and propose optimal frac designs and develop drawdown strategies.\n\nEvaluate and integrate competitor activity and results.\n\nProvide analysis and support for non-op activity, recommendations and decisions.\n\nMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks\n\nCollaborate with the Business Development team on acquisition opportunities.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nRequired Education, Experience, Licensure\nBachelor of Science Degree in Geology, Geophysics or related field of study\n\nTen or more years of Exploration & Production (E&P) or relevant geoscience experience\n\nExperience in South Texas\n\nProficiency with Kingdom software\n\nPossess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle\n\nPreferred Education, Experience, Licensure\nMaster of Science Degree in Geology or Geophysics\n\nExperience in South Texas and Permian\n\nKnowledge and experience with unconventional development\n\nDevelopment planning and/or operations experience\n\nRequired Core Competencies - Knowledge, Skills, Abilities\nData analysis and geologic mapping.\n\nExperience using GIS software and analysis tools.\n\nFamiliarity with Spotfire and/or Power BI.\n\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.\n\nAbility to identify issues, troubleshoot, and develop solutions.\n\nStrong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills to be able to make accurate calculations, identify deficiencies, address weaknesses, and how to improve them.\n\nExcellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to management and across field and office peers.\n\nDemonstrate high ethical and professional behavior and decision making when working with others.\n\nAble to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and deadlines.\n\nGood interpersonal and collaborative skills.\n\nAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, and foster and encourage teamwork.\n\nAbility to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.\n\nAble to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.\n\nCrescent Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
