This position will lead the daily accounts payable operations while ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, vendor payments, and employee expense-related transactions. The role will oversee a team of accounts payable professionals and serve as a key liaison between Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, Treasury, and vendors.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a customer-service mindset, and extensive experience managing accounts payable processes in a high-volume environment. This individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting business growth initiatives, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process optimization. The successful candidate will have experience utilizing SAP, OpenInvoice, and OpenTicket while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and service delivery.\nReporting Structure\nThis position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nSupervise and develop the Accounts Payable team, providing coaching, training, and performance management.\n\nOversee the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices through OpenInvoice and SAP.\n\nManage daily accounts payable activities, including invoice approvals, coding validation, payment processing, and exception resolution.\n\nMonitor and manage workflow queues within OpenInvoice and OpenTicketto ensure service level expectations are achieved.\n\nPartner with Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and business stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.\n\nReview and approve payment proposals, ACH transactions, wire payments, and check runsin accordance with company policies and internal controls.\n\nEnsure timely reconciliation of accounts payable subledgers and related balance sheet accounts.\n\nSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including accruals, reporting, and account reconciliations.\n\nMaintain compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and established internal controls.\n\nManage vendor onboarding processes and maintain accurate vendor master data.\n\nAnalyze accounts payable metrics and reporting to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.\n\nLead process improvement initiatives focused on automation, workflow optimization, and increased operational efficiency.\n\nSupport acquisitions, divestitures, and integration activities impacting accounts payable processes and systems.\n\nAssist with internal and external audit requests and provide supporting documentation as required.\n\nServe as the primary escalation point for complex vendor, system, and payment-related issues.\n\nEducation and Experience Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.\n\n8+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.\n\nExperience working in a high-volume accountspayable environment.\n\nStrong knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and accounting principles.\n\nExperience with SAP required.\n\nExperience utilizing OpenInvoice and OpenTicketrequired.\n\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in the upstream oil and gas industry preferred.\n\nKnowledge of SOX compliance and controlenvironments.\n\nExperience supporting acquisitions, integrations, and system implementations.\n\nDemonstrated ability to lead process improvement and automation initiatives.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.\n\nProven ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\n\nExperience developing and mentoring team members.\n\nCrescent Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
