Responsible for flawless execution of cocktail, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverage service, the Bartender ensures\nevery drink reflects Silversea F&B Core Service Standards and Silversea Way service principles.\nThe Bartender prepares beverages to precise specifications, maintains venue readiness, supports beverage revenue through\nconfident guest engagement and recommendations, and contributes directly to guest satisfaction and operational excellence.\nReporting Structure\nReports to: Bar Supervisor / Mixologist / Beverage Operations Manager / Head Bartender\nSubordinates: Bar Servers\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nGuest Experience & Service Excellence\nPrepares and serves cocktails, spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages following approved Silversea recipes and\npresentation standards.\nProvides warm, personalized, anticipatory service, engaging guests by name and noting their preferences.\nDemonstrates full adherence to Silversea Core Service Standards and the Silversea Way.\nConfidently recommends cocktails, premium spirits, wines, and cigars to support revenue and enhance the guest\nexperience.\nEnsures assigned bar areas always reflect luxury presentation, including ambience, cleanliness, and atmosphere.\nContributes directly to Beverage & Lounge Service targets, ratings, and revenue performance through consistent service\nand upselling.\nOperational Duties\nPerforms opening, mise-en-place, service, and closing procedures for the assigned venue.\nEnsures all fridges, freezers, displays, ice bins, tools, and bar equipment are fully stocked and operational.\nPrepares garnishes, syrups, ingredients, and bar components following recipe guidelines and sanitation standards.\nSupports bar setup for receptions, cocktail parties, afternoon tea, tastings, and shipwide events.\nAccurately completes requisitions, rotations, stock transfers, and breakage reports.\nMaintains product integrity, minimizes waste, and ensures adherence to portion control and cost discipline.\nPerforms additional duties assigned by supervisors to support operational needs.\nRecipe, Consistency & Quality Control\nFollows all approved classic, signature, seasonal, and venue-specific cocktail recipes without deviation.\nEnsures accuracy in flavor balance, dilution, ice selection, temperature, glassware, and garnish.\nParticipates in beverage briefings, menu rollouts, and tasting sessions led by the Mixologist or BOM.\nMaintains strong product knowledge including wines, spirits, cocktails, No/Lo beverages, coffee service, and cigars.\nReports inconsistencies, quality concerns, or product shortages to the Mixologist or Bar Supervisor.\nPublic Health, Sanitation & Compliance\nFully complies with Public Health, HACCP, and sanitation protocols in all beverage areas.\nEnsures all tools, equipment, and preparation areas are cleaned and sanitized according to standards.\nAccurately completes required temperature logs for refrigeration, ice wells, and dishwashers.\nEnsures correct waste management, chemical usage, and bar cleanliness.\nMaintains inspection readiness at all times.\nTeam Collaboration & Training\nWorks collaboratively with the Mixologist, Bar Supervisor, and BOM to ensure beverage consistency.\nSupports new team members by sharing knowledge, demonstrating correct techniques, and promoting service culture.\nParticipates in all scheduled training sessions, including beverage knowledge, service standards, and PH compliance.\nCommunicates effectively with colleagues and supervisors to maintain smooth service flow and teamwork.\nSafety Duties:\nParticipates in crew and guest safety drills according to instructions\nAlways complies with the Company's safety and pollution prevention regulations and operating procedures.\nParticipates in all mandatory training\nLeads by example by taking care of Health and Safety of self and others\nEnsures that all work equipment, personal protective equipment, chemicals and safety devices are being used correctly.\nDelivering training, guidance and supervision on how to use and maintain them\nQualifications\nValid STCW95 certification.\nMinimum 3 years of bartending experience in a 5-star hotel, luxury bar, or cruise environment.\nStrong knowledge of mixology, classic cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages.\nFamiliarity with Public Health compliance and inventory control.\nPhysically and medically fit.\nProfessional appearance and integrity.\nKnowledge and Skills\nExpertise in cocktail creation, garnishing, and beverage presentation.\nStrong communication and guest-engagement skills.\nAbility to multitask in a high-demand, fast-paced luxury environment.\nProactive problem-solving and attention to detail.\nCost-awareness and commitment to stock integrity.\nLanguage requirements:\nExcellent fluent English (verbal and written) is mandatory. English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This\nalso includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with\nguests and crew members. Any other language is a plus.\nComputer knowledge:\n1. Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications is required\n2. Previous experience with Fidelio is desirable\n3. Efficient at all computer based tasks\nWork Environment\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the\nessential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
