This person will schedule personnel and events at the facilities, setting up tables and chairs, and performing regular janitorial duties to ensure the cleanliness of the facility. This position is classified as a non-essential personnel classification for Emergency Response purposes. This means that, during an emergency, the position is not considered immediately necessary for emergency response or critical continuity operations.\n\nEssential Job Functions: \nEssential job duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following:\nMay conduct a general program of recreation at an assigned recreational facility and/or gymnasium.\nGreets visitors and tourists.\nOrganizes, supervises, and stimulates interest among children, adults and seniors in various types of sports, crafts, art work and other recreational activities.\nIssues and receives recreational equipment; supervises proper use and care of recreational equipment.\nMaintains schedule, reservation, invoices, accident/incident reports, and related records; takes inventory of supplies and equipment; prepares regular reports and correspondence.\nClean, sweep, mop, scrub floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers, replace lights bulbs, refill restroom dispensers.\nMove equipment and supplies on an incidental basis.\nClean and sanitize restrooms.\nSet up and take down tables and chairs for scheduled events; providing any necessary equipment that is needed for event.\nEnsures that the building and equipment is properly maintained. Report needed repairs to supervisor.\nAll other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor, manager, director or mayor. \n\nKnowledge Skills and Abilities: \nMust possess the required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.\nSome knowledge of the rules and regulations of competitive athletic games.\nAbility to lead and instruct adults, children and seniors in a variety of recreational activities and special events.\nThorough knowledge of city and department rules and regulations.\nKnowledge of standard office equipment and procedures.\nKnowledge of methods of cleaning and preserving a variety of surfaces; proper use of a wide range of chemicals.\nAbility to supervise the work of subordinates.\nAbility to greet the general public tactfully and courteously.\nBasic computer knowledge in Microsoft programs.\n\nEducation and Experience\nHigh School graduate or equivalent is required. Must possess first aid and CPR basic certifications within six months of employment.\n\nLicenses of Certifications \nMust possess a valid Mississippi Driver’s License\n\nPhysical Demands and Working Conditions\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
