The role focuses on building robust, scalable and efficient models and applications, including the use of LLMs, RAG frameworks and state-of-the-art approaches to support complex institutional projects.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, implement and optimise advanced AI, NLP and ML models using LLMs, RAG frameworks and other state-of-the-art approaches. \nCreate methods for tokenisation, part-of-speech tagging, named entity recognition, classification, clustering and other text mining-related tasks. \nFine-tune pre-trained models on domain-specific tasks. \nConduct research and stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in NLP, ML and AI technologies. \nDevelop and maintain robust, scalable and efficient code using Python. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into existing products and services. \nPerform rigorous analysis and experimentation to improve model accuracy, efficiency and scalability. \nParticipate in peer reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of AI solutions. \nContribute to the design and implementation of ML application architecture and its solution stack. \nDevelop comprehensive reports and visualisations to communicate insights and findings to stakeholders. \nSpecific expertise and technologies\nEQF6 qualification with a focus on Statistics, Data Science or Machine Learning. \nExperience in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. \nExcellent knowledge of Python and libraries such as Pandas, SpaCy, NLTK and Hugging Face. \nExperience with deep learning frameworks for complex model architecture, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. \nExperience with AI-powered code assistants, such as Amazon Kiro or GitHub Copilot. \nGood knowledge of SQL tooling, including Oracle and PostgreSQL. \nKnowledge of NoSQL databases, including Elasticsearch and MongoDB. \nKnowledge of architectural design of scalable ML solutions, such as model servers and GPU resource optimisation. \nExperience with A/B testing and experimental design of ML models. \nExperience with pre-trained models and LLMs such as GPT and other Transformer-based architectures. \nExperience with tools such as Matplotlib and Seaborn for creating data visualisations. \nStrong understanding of linguistics and text processing techniques. \nProficiency in continuous code delivery and unit testing. \nUnderstanding of bias in ML applications and bias mitigation techniques. \nKnowledge in one of the following areas: predictive analytics, prescriptive simulation, topic detection, plagiarism detection, trend or anomaly detection in datasets, and recommendation systems. \nGood knowledge of the European Commission grant management ecosystem, including eGrants, would be an asset. \nSkills and competencies\nProficiency in understanding and applying statistical concepts and models. \nAbility to formulate problems and develop solutions using data-driven approaches. \nAbility to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders. \nResults-oriented mindset focused on delivery. \nGood communication skills in English, both orally and in writing. \nAbility
