are currently looking for a Senior Cloud / DevOps Engineer (AWS) to strengthen the Cronos Europa team.\nThe role is hands-on: operating Kubernetes in production, building and maintaining the Argo workflows that the scientists depend on, managing the AWS estate, and supporting the research users who run analytical and pipeline workloads on the platform.\nLocation: Lisbon\nOffice presence:Minimum 3 days per week on site\nStart: As soon as possible - at the latest early 2027\nDuration: Long-term - likely up to two year s\nResponsabilities:\nDesign, deploy and operate containerised workloads on Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.\nMaintain secure, reliable and up-to-date Kubernetes clusters in production.\nBuild and maintain workflow orchestration using Argo Workflows.\nEnsure research pipelines are reliable, observable and easy to rerun.\nManage AWS compute, storage and database services, including EC2, S3, FSx, EFS, RDS and ECR.\nImplement event-driven and serverless solutions using Lambda, EventBridge, SQS and SNS.\nApply IAM and AWS security best practices across the environment.\nSupport scientists and research users running analytical and pipeline workloads on the platform.\nAutomate recurring operational and user needs to reduce manual support.\nTechnical skills:\nStrong hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, FSx, EFS, RDS, ECR and EventBridge.\nProven hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.\nExperience with Argo Workflows for workflow orchestration.\nGood understanding of IAM, SQS, SNS and AWS native storage solutions.\nExperience with event-driven and serverless architectures.\nExperience with Posit Workbench is an advantage.\nExperience with Nextflow, or a clear willingness to learn it, is an advantage.\nExperience in life sciences, pharmaceutical or research computing environments is a plus.\nProfile :\nMinimum 5 years of experience in Cloud, DevOps or Platform Engineering.\nSenior, hands-on profile with recent experience operating AWS and Kubernetes environments in production.\nAbility to take ownership of an existing production platform and contribute quickly.\nAbility to troubleshoot complex cloud and Kubernetes environments.\nFluent English, both written and spoken.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.\nWillingness to work from the
