Learn more at www.crossboundaryenergy.com.\n What You'll Do\nWe are seeking a multitalented Project Engineer who will support the execution phase of an off-grid hybrid power station which includes generating assets from gas, diesel, solar PV and BESS. The Project Engineer will work alongside CBE’s implementation, engineering, procurement, and construction partners to validate project schedule, budget, and risk mitigation. This role will be responsible for reporting on project progress, managing project partners to act consistently with CBE’s technical and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) standards, raising gaps in performance to CBE’s Head of Implementation, and ensuring corrective measures are taken on- site where needed. The Project Engineer will also manage on-site construction activities by representing CBE and elevating client concerns about all aspects of project delivery.\nThe Project Engineer will report to the Head of Implementation (Australia). You are comfortable with ambiguity, accountable for your decisions, and can operate without direction in a fast-moving environment\n\nPrioritizes Results: Effectively employs software and project management tools to meet project and personal goals\n\nAuthentically Cares: Patient in developing good working relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants\n\nIntegrity: Your set your standards above the minimum required for compliance where necessary to deliver an excellent project\n\n Required Qualifications\nCitizen or Permanent Resident of Australia\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or other relevant Engineering discipline.\n\n5-10 years of experience in design and construction of (hybrid) power stations, preferably with gas reciprocating gensets, for Australian infrastructure or mining projects\n\nExperience coordinating engineering, suppliers and contractors.\n\nStrong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.\n\nGood understanding of project delivery from design through construction and commissioning.\n\nStrong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple technical workstreams and priorities.\n\nProfessional fluency in English, speaking and writing\n\nProfessional fluency in use of Microsoft Office suite tools, including Excel and Word\n\nDemonstrated ability to organize and complete work independently, without on-site supervision\n\n Primary Responsibilities\nThe Project Engineer will support the CBE project team, EPC and subcontractors in general project implementation coordination and EHS management duties. Additional specific duties are listed below:\nMonitor and update project work schedules using existing templates and effectively track project progress throughout the solar project lifecycle\n\nEffectively manage internal and external stakeholders to complete scheduled tasks\n\nIdentify project schedule and budget risks at an early stage and alert the relevant Manager in time to minimize or mitigate impacts\n\nMeet with third-party technical stakeholders (including attending weekly EHS and progress meetings) to ask questions and accurately take notes on construction problems for later discussion and review with the project team\n\nConsistently, accurately, and clearly capture project EHS and construction data. Transmit weekly reports to the team through existing tools in accordance with reporting deadlines, including stakeholder grievances and any incident reports\n\nInvestigate opportunities to improve project implementation to deliver best value to the customer and optimize project returns\n\nInterpret basic technical design principles related to energy systems, electrical systems and the built environment, including technical drawings and equipment data sheets\n\nApply international standards for environmental, social, and health & safety risk management thoroughly, knowledgeably, and consistently on solar construction sites via ESMS procedures\n\nCoordinate review and revision of draft JHAs and construction methodologies produced by EPC and subcontractors to plan appropriately for mitigating risks during project construction\n\nAssert key elements of EHS on a construction site, confidently recommending changes and new ways of operating to teammates and external contractors\n\nConduct site audits of compliance to CBE and international EHS standards. Recommend and validate corrective actions to close compliance gaps\n\nDemonstrate awareness of all laws and regulations relevant for project work and proactively raise questions with Project Development Manager about best practices for compliance\n\nSupport application for and acquisition of project permits for generation, construction, environmental certification, and any other permissions as appropriate\n\nAssist with administrative tasks for the project as directed\n\nImplement all business and project approved processes\n\nThink you have what it takes but not sure you check every box?
