Join us at Crowe and embark on a career where you can help shape the future of our industry.\nJob Description:\nAs a Cloud Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, deploy, and maintain cloud-based solutions primarily on the Microsoft Azure platform. The ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of ETL processes and technologies, as well as experience with a variety of data sources. You will work closely with our clients, development teams, infrastructure teams, data & analytics team, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and operation of cloud services. Your role will involve designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise.\nAdditionally, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.\nSpecific responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nThe shift timings for this role is 5:00PM - 2:00AM IST (7:30AM - 4:30PM ET)\nIdentify & map source data in various commercial and custom systems\nDesign, develop, test and maintain ETL pipelines\nExtract, transform, and load data from a variety of data sources\nWork with data engineers and other stakeholders to define data requirements\nTroubleshoot and debug ETL pipelines\nStay up-to-date on ETL technologies and best practices\nFormulate development estimates (task, effort, dependencies, etc.)\nDevelop test cases and demonstrate results for assigned deliverables.\nMaintain and present daily/weekly status\nArticulate project deliverable details and activities to client and project team members\nAdapt to various industries and quickly learn the client’s context, language, and jargon to clearly document and translate business requirements to development plans\nMaintain a professional presence and be ready to interact with the client at all times\nAzure Solution Design: Collaborate with development teams and architects to design cloud-based solutions on the Azure platform. Evaluate requirements, propose design options, and recommend best practices for scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization.\nAzure Networking: Designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure solutions based on Azure services i.e Configuring and managing virtual networks, subnets, routing tables, network security groups, and load balancers within the Azure environment, Configuring the IP-Sec VPN tunnels and troubleshooting network-related issues and providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.\nAzure Infrastructure Deployment: Deploy and configure Azure infrastructure components, such as virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, load balancers and other azure services. Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaaC) practices using tools like Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.\nAzure Service Provisioning: Provision and manage Azure services, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL Database, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Active Directory (AAD).\nMonitoring and Troubleshooting: Set up monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure the health and performance of Azure resources. Investigate and resolve issues related to application availability, performance, and security. Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.\nSecurity and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect Azure resources and data. Follow industry best practices and compliance standards. Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans and implement necessary remediation actions.\nBackup and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for Azure-based applications and data. Configure and manage Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and other relevant services.\nCollaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and support project delivery. Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and deployment guides.\nContinuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest Azure features, services, and industry trends. Continuously explore and propose new solutions, tools, and methodologies to optimize cloud infrastructure, enhance security, and streamline operations.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).\nStrong experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions on the Azure platform (AWS and GCP is a plus)\nPrevious consulting experience or experience working with external clients\nStrong understanding of ETL processes and technologies\nExperience with a variety of data sources, including relational databases, flat files, and web APIs\nExperience with Python, Java, or another programming language\nExperience with data warehouse technologies, such as Azure, AWS, and Snowflake\nExcellent problem-solving and debugging skills\nStrong communication and teamwork skills\nSolid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment\nTechnical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in enterprise solutions for different industries\nHigh-level knowledge of BI architecture or data warehousing\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nEffectively managing multiple deliverables, clients and projects in a fast-paced environment\nProficiency in Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and identity and access management (IAM).\nProven experience in designing and implementing network infrastructure solutions in Microsoft Azure.\nStrong knowledge of Azure networking services, including virtual networks, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and Azure Load Balancer.\nKnowledge of security best practices and compliance standards related to cloud environments.\nSolid understanding of cloud architecture patterns, scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery.\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code (IaaC) tools like ARM templates, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Azure cloud environments ((AWS and GCP is a plus).\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams and stakeholders.\nKey Stakeholders This Role Interacts With:\nInternal\nSenior BI Analyst\nData Product Manager\nBI Architect / Senior Architect\nData Engineers\nAnalytics Developers (Power BI, Tableau)\nExternal\nClients Operations Leads and Mid-Level Managers\nData Owners, Data Stewards\nEnterprise Information Management and Data Governance Team\nIT Staff - Architects, DBAs, Developers, etc\nWe expect the candidate to uphold Crowe’s values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship.
