This commitment is reflected in its brand promise: “When every minute matters, customers can count on Crown to keep their businesses moving.”\nJob Description\nA forklift truck service engineer has a real responsibility, working on their own initiative to diagnose and solve problems.\nYou are the one the customer relies upon to get his business up to speed.\nGood engineers are in high demand and this will only increase over the years to come.\nYou’re looking at a secure, long-term career, in an industry and company that is here to stay.\nAs a workshop engineer you will service and repair forklifts. You will be trained in all aspects of service engineering within the industry including getting hands-on with hydraulics, LPG and electric systems - putting your skills to the test daily to find the problem and fix it.\nLearn how to install, repair and carry out planned maintenance of customer forklift trucks to Crown specifications. Undertake an appropriate engineering apprenticeship, completing set modules on time and attending college as necessary.\nWork shadow a colleague, and develop an understanding of workshop procedures through on job training.\nAttend manufacturers training and other training courses as appropriate.\nLearn Crown administrative procedures, and how to complete worksheets, timesheets etc. \nAssist in keeping customer trucks secure and clean whilst in the workshop.\nEnsure security and correct use and issue of all tools and spares issued.\nUnderstand and adhere to all Crown Company, legislative and Health and Safety procedures.\nUnder close supervision, ensures all work undertaken meets industry and Crown work standards. \nTo build and maintain good relationships with customers, colleagues and managers.\nUndertakes other duties which Crown may from time to time reasonably request.\nPerson Specification\nEssential Skills:\nYou must be willing to learn and have the ability to follow instructions.\nYou must have a keen interest in engineering.\nFriendly and able to build relationships with colleagues and customers.\nGrades between 9 and 4 or equivalent in Maths and English as a minimum.\nI.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft “Word”, “Excel” or equivalent software.\nAbility to work efficiently and accurately\nHighly motivated\nThe ability to work as a team member and possess good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills.\nTo work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines.\nTo be able to prioritise workload and work under own initiative.\nHigh level of flexibility and dependability.\nAptitude for practical science or engineering skills\nDesirable Skills: No prerequisite experience required but ademonstrable interest in mechanical engineering through school or hobby\ninterests.\n\nVacancy Details\nHours of Work: Monday to Friday - 8 hours\nAt Crown, we know that our employees are the driving force behind our success in the material handling industry.
