It's an exciting time to join our business because Crown offers you the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in an expanding industry.\nCrown was founded with the goal of valuing and promoting sustainability and this vision continues to be essential to our long-term future.\nJob Description:\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nResponsibilities include:\nOperates automatic Palletizer/De-palletizer equipment within the plant.\nEnsures quality of finished package to include: cans placed correctly on pallets per customer order, manually insert cans to complete proper layer patterns, removes minor jams and reports major jams and/or irregularities to Maintainer or Supervisor\nAbility to recognize can defects; follows procedure for defect recognition and communication, collects and documents information on cans (50 per hour)\nCommunicates timely and effectively; advises lift driver when supplies are needed and to remove defective supplies.\nMaintains log of production and/or downtime, spoilage as required.\nUsing computerized system, makes label (tickets) for pallets\nPerforms preventative maintenance and Housekeeping to include cleaning the Palletizer, plungers and fingers.\nKnowledge of measurements and specifications of cans.\nSuccessfully follows all standard operating procedures; company policies and procedures; good attendance is required.\nEnsures compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) at all times\nMonitors equipment or processes and reports all problems to supervision.\nKeeps area safe, clean and organized.\nPerforms other related duties as required.\nJob Requirements\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nRequirements\nHigh School diploma or G.E.D preferred\n1-2 year(s) experience in inspecting/packaging and high speed manufacturing environment.\nMust be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support.\nCompetencies\nGood oral and written communications skills.\nGood record keeping skills.\nGood listening skills.\nAccurate measurement capability.\nAbility to understand and speak basic English.\nAbility to discern variations in color, shading, and/or can construction issues: visual acuity and high level of detail.\nSense of urgency on problem identification and resolution.\nAbility to work with a team or individually without issue. \nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.\nThe team member frequently is required to climb or balance\nThe team member is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.\nMay be required to lift up to 50 pounds.\nWorking Conditions\nGenerally works in a manufacturing environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic \nThe associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures especially in the summer and winter months\nThe noise level is frequently loud\nWhat Crown Offers You\nStrong engagement and commitment to the safety of our employees\n\nThe opportunity to build a meaningful career\n\nProfessional and personal development through training and work experiences\n\nJoin us and become part of a team of professionals who are passionate about sustainable packaging!\nWorking Together Working Together is one of the five pillars that make up our Twentyby30™ program.
