Here, you’ll be part of the team, empowered to explore more, experience more and supported by your leader to grow and develop.\nCasual Opportunities\nThe Role\nWe're seeking passionate and reliable Stage Operators to join our Crown Live Theatre team on a casual basis.\nYou'll support the delivery of staging, mechanist and fly operations across Crown Melbourne's theatre and entertainment venues. Working alongside world-class productions, concerts and live events, you'll play a key role in ensuring shows are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.\nIn this role, you will:\nSupport staging, mechanist and fly operations across theatre productions, rehearsals, performances and live events.\nPerform technical show functions including Mechanist, Flyperson and Duty Technician duties.\nAssist with the installation of staging, scenery, fly systems, automation elements and associated production equipment.\nSupport technical rehearsals, show changeovers, performance operations and pack downs.\nFollow staging plots, cue sheets, run sheets and technical documentation accurately.\nAssist in maintaining safe, organised and efficient backstage, workshop and storage areas.\nWork collaboratively with production teams, technical departments and visiting production crews.\nEnsure all activities are delivered safely and in accordance with venue procedures and operational standards.\nYou'll bring:\nExperience working in theatre, staging, mechanist, live entertainment or event environments.\nExperience assisting with staging installations, fly systems, scenic operations or backstage technical delivery.\nA sound understanding of stage machinery, mechanist systems and fly operations.\nStrong teamwork, communication and reliability.\nThe ability to remain calm and focused in a live performance environment.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.\nThe ability to interpret and follow staging instructions, cues and technical documentation\nDesirable Qualifications & Licences\nWorking at Heights Licence.\nElevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.\nForklift Licence.\nTest and Tag Qualification.\nManual Driver's Licence.\nDogging or Rigging Licence.\nExperience operating manual fly systems\nWhat We Offer You\nAttractive hourly rates\nComplimentary onsite meals.\nGenerous discounts across Crown hotels, dining, parking and entertainment.\nA supportive and inclusive workplace that values individuality, diversity and belonging.\nCareer development opportunities within one of Australia's leading entertainment and hospitality organisations.\nThe opportunity to work on world-class productions and events.\nApplications Close: 12th October 2026\nOn top of exciting career possibilities, we offer better exposure to experiences and learning.
