Here, you’ll be part of the team, empowered to explore more, experience more and supported by your leader to grow and develop.\nFull Time Opportunities\nThe Role\nWe're seeking experienced and passionate Stage Operators to join our Crown Live Theatre team.\nReporting to the Production & Technical Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering staging, mechanist and fly operations across Crown Melbourne's theatre and entertainment venues. Working alongside world-class productions and events, you'll lead staging operations, support production planning and ensure the highest standards of safety, technical delivery and operational excellence.\nIn this role, you will:\nLead staging, mechanist and fly operations across theatre productions, rehearsals, performances and live events.\nAct as the primary point of contact for staging and fly system requirements.\nPerform key technical show functions including Mechanist, Flyperson and Duty Technician duties.\nOversee the installation, operation, testing and maintenance of stage machinery, fly systems and staging infrastructure.\nLead and develop casual crew and contractors while fostering a positive and safety-focused team culture.\nSupport rostering, crew allocation and operational planning activities.\nEnsure staging documentation, production requirements and operating procedures are delivered accurately and compliantly.\nEnsure all activities are delivered safely and to the highest technical standards.\nYou'll bring:\nExtensive experience in staging, mechanist or fly system operations within theatre, live entertainment or event environments.\nDemonstrated experience performing Mechanist, Flyperson or Duty Technician responsibilities.\nStrong knowledge of stage machinery, fly systems, rigging practices and staging operations.\nExperience leading technical teams, casual crew or contractors.\nStrong troubleshooting, organisational and problem-solving capability.\nThe ability to interpret technical drawings, staging documentation and production specifications.\nDesirable Qualifications & Licences\nWorking at Heights Licence.\nElevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.\nForklift Licence.\nTest and Tag Qualification.\nManual Driver's Licence.\nIntermediate or Advanced Dogging or Rigging Certification\nExperience operating manual fly systems.\nWhat We Offer You\nAttractive hourly rates\nComplimentary onsite meals.\nGenerous discounts across Crown hotels, dining, parking and entertainment.\nA supportive and inclusive workplace that values individuality, diversity and belonging.\nCareer development opportunities within one of Australia's leading entertainment and hospitality organisations.\nThe opportunity to work on world-class productions and events.\nApplications Close: Wednesday 21st October 2026\nOn top of exciting career possibilities, we offer better exposure to experiences and learning.
