The selected candidate will manage projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and operational requirements.\nThis position requires 20% to 100% travel and is assigned to a geographic region aligned with FAA operational boundaries. Candidates may work remotely.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Management & Execution\nManage FAA telecommunication and other electronic system installation projects from initiation through completion\nExecute all five project phases: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing\nProvide cost estimates and procure all required installation materials\nCommunicate regularly with project stakeholders and manage change requests\nDeliver project plans, engineering design packages, and risk mitigation strategies\nCoordinate with project managers, financial analysts, and installation teams\nSupport project closeout activities with facility managers, ensuring scope alignment\nEngineering & System Design\nDevelop engineering implementation plans, instructions, and design packages\nReview facility drawings and documentation including structural, electrical, Telco, and signal flow schematics\nConduct initial site surveys to assess facility conditions and resource requirements\nEngineer installations at FAA federal facilities including ARTCC, ATCT, BUEC, RCAG, RCL, RCO, RTR, and Mobile Communication Vehicles\nInstallation & Technical Oversight\nSupport installation and upgrade of communications systems including:\nRadio equipment\nRadio racks\nTelco equipment\nAntennas\nRF cables\nGrounding systems\nJunction boxes\nLightning protection systems\nTowers, poles, and platforms\nGeneral facility construction\nVOIP/VCS system\nCoordinate with electronic installation teams to ensure requirements are met and materials are available onsite\nConduct pre-installation meetings and support installation readiness\nElectronic Systems Integration\nWork with complex electronic equipment systems\nSupport switching systems, copper telephone lines, coaxial cable, and fiber optic links\nPerform electrical troubleshooting and system validation\nMinimum Required Qualifications\nU.S. Citizenship (required for government contract work)\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or six (6) years of relevant technical experience (equivalent military training may be considered)\nAbility to travel 20% to 100%\nAbility to climb antenna towers up to 100 feet\nAbility to read and interpret schematics and blueprints\nAbility to pass a government background check and meet federal background investigation requirements\nMust possess a valid, current driver’s license\nMust have access to a credit card with sufficient credit to cover travel expenses (reimbursed per company policy)\nPreferred Qualifications\nMinimum of 2 years of experience delivering engineering implementation plans, engineering instructions, and CAD drawings\nExperience working on FAA facilities\nStrong understanding of manual and power tools\nExperience using test equipment including communication test sets, multimeters, ohmmeters, power meters, mega-ohms meters, Anritsu, and similar tools\nElectrical troubleshooting experience\nPhysical & Work Environment Requirements\nAbility to climb towers up to 100 feet\nAbility to work in field environments and at height\nAbility to work with tools, test equipment, and construction materials\nAbility to travel and support field-based installations as required\nTravel Requirements\nTravel requirement: 20% to 100%\nTravel aligned to FAA regional assignments\nEmployees are required to cover travel-related expenses in advance, which are reimbursed in accordance with company policy\nCompensation\nCommunications Electronics Engineer - $35.00 - $57.00 hrs. equivalent\nCompensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.\nCrown complies with all applicable state and local pay transparency laws.
